Baron, you are in the part of the country where ketchup is a spice.
Then again... British food...

I live in NYC where we take our dressing on the side, thank you.
Marc Chevalier said:Yeah, but you folks get too much dressing on the side.
Viola said:I love that my family has lived here for five generations (though I attribute that to them being homebodies like myself; they got off the boat here then didn't budge an inch.)
mysterygal said:don't know about people in general, since I've never been to the east coast...but I do hear stories about your taxi cab drivers
PrettySquareGal said:I love the East coast. I love winter and snow and not feeling like I have to be sunny all of the time.
Lincsong said:Come on out and see for yourself. Then you can decide. Southern Cal is a lot more nicer than Northern. San Francisco Bay Area is filthy; there is a digusting brown smog that lingers over the hills, the water is lapping with sewage/mud. 50 years ago San Francisco was a classy place. Today, there are 1000's, not hundreds BUT 1,000's of homeless people like locusts all over the place. The homeless relieve themselves on the street and the cops look the other way. The sidewalks are crumbling. If you come out here RENT a car, because if you bring your own you'll have to get the alignment done because of all the crumbling roads and potholes. The freeways are filled with weeds and trash. The signs on the freeways are bordered with razor wire to keep the graffitti "artists" away. If you've been to Newark, NJ or Camden, NJ you've already been to Oakland.
I haven't been to the Northeast, but I've met many Northeasterners when I was living in Florida. People are definetley different. It took a while for them to get used to my "laid back" ways and a while for me to get used to their "unique" patterns.
Andykev said:Everything you said is absolute hog wash. SF has a homeless problem, but not in the greater Bay Area. Roads are fine. Brown air, must be from something you are smoking.!! We have crystal clear air...only about three or four days A YEAR in the late summer, where they have a "spare the air" day. Other than that, it is fresh air 100%. When were you here last? 1966?
PS your profile says you live in the "Laughingist Place there is". Where is that? Fantasy Land?
Briscoeteque said:Besides, where can you get good corned beef on the West Coast?
And don't forget the talented Carol Doda!Lincsong said:1966? Ah, what a beautiful time it was to be in San Francisco.
