Any of you Stetson whisperers have any idea on the model of this 50s 3X “Selv-Edge”? Had it for a few years and always wondered - absolutely no model anywhere on the liner or sweat. Lovely hat - it’s kind of Whippet-y but the dimensions seem a hair more modest to my eye. Looks a bit like a Flagship too, but not quite.

Having a model name on the sweatband or on the liner is the exception rather than the rule. For what it’s worth, I don’t see Whippet or Flagship in your photos, but I definitely see a nice hat.

My latest 3X is unlike any of my others. The open crown is 5 3/4” and the raw edge brim is 2 3/4” wide. The felt is wonderful in a sturdy western way and I always like skinny ribbons. It is easily dry creased and has a nice hand. The liner is stitched in. Absolutely nothing hiding behind the sweatband. It was described horribly by the seller and I feared it was going to be a 6 5/8, but it fits perfectly so definitely a 7 5/8.

Just stumbled across this thread with the recent posts, I have picked up a couple vintage 3x's recently, very different but I really like both of them. The first is this stingy brim, which has a little longer felt to it and it feels terrific. I wish it had a little more brim though.

The second is my Open Road, I really like this hat although it seems slightly smaller even though they are both 7 1/2. Both hats are in terrific shape though and I'm very happy with my purchases.

This little treasure went mostly unnoticed in the excitement over the big Clear Nutria, but what a wonderful surprise when the one detail missed in the sales pics turned out to be a Fray tag and a beaver/rainbow 3X Boss of the Plains.

It needs a little cleaning and there is one little spot there on the front of the hat, but I could not be happier.

Picked up this 3X western recently. CA83F890-B69A-44A8-8EB6-2E6C07FA11AC.jpeg
The 3X designation in the sweat is different than most. B01BEF5F-9D53-4C37-B7F7-E373A6DE899F.jpeg
Both roundels have the stars, and the liner doesn’t have plastic on it.

Has this label concerning the liner, and the reorder labels.

Anyone have an idea when this one was born?
Edit: thought I’d add the size tag and store stamp.
