My latest 3X: a western long hair:
Wow, something about those long hair Westerns!!
This is called getting lucky in Vegas. Stetson 3X Mode Edge, OPS-Era with an original price of $15. I picked this up on a decent BIN on eBay from a seller in Las Vegas, so I am going to jump to the conclusion that I'm the third owner (including the seller).

This is a fantastic hat, a BEAST, if I may steal a term. Great, supple 3X felt with all the accoutrements - Mode Edge, wind trolley, the works. It's a monster, too, with a 6" Open Crown and a 2 3/4" brim. I found the OPS tag while uncovering the re-order tag, as the owner had gently tucked it up behind the liner. Block 123 is interesting.

I tried to find any historical information on Christensen's Menswear on Fremont Street. As this area is now the Fremont St. Experience, all the old businesses are gone. In poking around the history, I found a reference to a Christensen's jewelers, but no menswear.

Nice! Can’t wait to see a bash and wear pics, love that store print too. Great snag
Great score! The interplay between the felt, ribbon, and wind trolley tones is perfect.
Great get, Jim. That is a great looking hat and suits you to a T.
Wow. Nice one Jim

Looks great Jim. Glad it worked outAnother 3X, this one from a local vintage shop, Feathers. As told in another thread, I walked away from this at first, because I thought she was asking a little too much and it was a 7 1/8 (me being a 7 1/4). But then, I was overcome by the First Rule of Acquisition and decided I might be able to make a buck on the Bay with it. Trouble was, the store was closed for several days as the owner's son, who has been manning the joint lately because Mom is being Covid-cautious, had quarantined himself due to possible exposure.
During this time, the local downtown partnership sent me a complimentary gift card, which reduced the price and piqued my interest even more. The store was open when I drove by a couple of days before Christmas, so I went in and scored it. Then, I convinced myself not to sell it because, even at 7 1/8, it measures just a RCH less than a 7 1/4. Although a bit snug, it fits - it just "rides high" if you get my drift.
Enough story. This is an interesting 3X. Every other 3X I have is pretty substantial, thicker felt. This hat is more like a Playboy with a very pettable finish. Even blocked on B122, it has a PB profile. Raw edge, however, no brim stitching.
5 1/2" crown
2 5/8" raw edge brim
Self-felted thin ribbon

A couple of days ago, I found a couple of images of Neighbour's Men's Shop in Middletown, OH. Now I can't find them again for the life of me!
