They open to show the ledger sheet inside.

And no, they're not vintage - they're about 7-8 years old.

Wow, these are the coolest links I've seen. Great find Mike in Seattle.

My dress set came yesterday. I don't know if it's ever been used.

Cool box:

Moral: You can do pretty well on ebay with $10.

These cuff links are my favorite set. They are from a discontinued line from James Avery Craftsman. I had them resurrect the molds and make me a set for me as a special run. They are replica Spanish pieces of eight, 14k yellow and white gold.

I saw a pair at Macy's last night...little hot sauce bottles like Tabasco sauce...I'm thinking I should go buy a pair just in case. My clueless other half, even with me ooo'ing and ah'ing and "these are so nifty!" 'ing over them will still give me a gift certificate to some store I don't normally frequent at Xmas. "An Apple Store gift certificate...how thoughtful, considering you have a Mac and I have a PC..."

I recently went on a cufflink buying binge. Here are a few of the ones I've decided to pass on, plus a couple to keep:

011-1.jpg

Nice thick MoP - now on their way to a fellow-Lounger

009-1.jpg

Glass initial links - nice if you happen to be a "B"!

008-1.jpg

Rather nifty expandable links - presumably to allow you to leave them in the shirt, the chain pulls out to about 1 1/2" or more

007-1.jpg

Some fairly simple links with a semi-floral pattern

006-1.jpg

Silver Dollar cufflinks?

005-1.jpg

Some fairly basic wheel-style links

004-1.jpg

I quite like these simple octagonal gilt links on their original card - "Sleeve links for soft cuffs"

002-1.jpg

The first of the keepers - cheap faux pearl single sides, but I like them (am wearing them now, in fact - shirt is Charles Tyrwhitt mango sateen stripe.)

003-1.jpg

My absolute favourites - nice solid MoP square double-side links

More to follow if time permits!

010-1.jpg

Red glass

009-2.jpg

Game links (pheasants?), also extendable

008-2.jpg

9ct gold "Sunbust" links

007-2.jpg

Amber and lucite

006-2.jpg

Not only did you learn how to post pics, but you can put those nifty frames around them too! Great cufflinks--I love novelty pieces that open and such.
