Maybe try bakers boots. They do custom made belts with the leathers used by whites, so I'm thinking maybe you can get a blue cxl one. Send Kyle an email. He is a really good bloke.
Thanks for the advice. Yeah, Kyle is very helpful and supportive. I got those boots from him. I'll email him on the subject.

One of those jackets that stick in the mind—I went to an Echo and the Bunnymen concert in the 80's, and Ian McCullough was wearing a dark blue half belted biker jacket, think it was a bit lighter than this stuff, toward Union blue, but not by much, you still had to be paying attention to see it was blue. Looked for one like it for years, thought it was the coolest jacket just about ever (really liked Echo and the Bunnymen...). Never found...

Would be interesting to see picture of what you mean.... do you mean it was a lancer-front type with a belt like a Perfecto - a half-belt on the front - or do you mean with a lancer front and a half-belt back (as the term is more commonly used round here)? If the latter, an Aero Bootlegger would be a good place to start... If the former, there's a high likelihood it was a seventies-era Lewis / Aviakit jacket. Worth seeing if you can dig out a few photos....

Blue can be a great color. Surprised no one jumped in when several of the manufacturers were hyped on the blue some time ago. That was a fun couple of weeks that turned out to be pretty uneventful.

Funny how that happened, wasn't it? There was the MajorMajor jacket, which came out first, then that lovely blue A1 with cream knits that Carrie from Insurrection had done for herself, then a heck of a lot of talk about various vlues, including badalassi, from Kelso, then it all went quiet. (I've not heard anything at all about Kelso in a long time; I assume they're targetting their marketing elsewhere since they gave up the affiliate thread here). It did seem liek there could have been more, but...

I liked some of those blues. I still needed a couple of meat and potatoes jackets before going too exotic. I would like to see a few of them with some wear and tear.

I think that's why a lot of people hesitated. Not that they didn't like it, but more that they were thinking 'after I've got the basics covered....' Mind you, my Bootlegger seemed wildly exotic when I ordered it back when, but it's been one that gotten the most wear. Soft as goat, now....

Funny thing is, that a blue like MajorMajor's jacket would be, imo, actually more flexible than either a brown or a black jacket. Would go with either brown or black boots, for instance....

Thanks - now we can all put aside those silly notions of using other colors...

Well, you do want everybody else on the internet to think of you as sufficently manly, don't you? ;)

C'mon people, it can be a good look for a jacket!

These remind me of 70s / into the early eighties Lewis / Aviakit, back when they first got into colours other than black or brown. I believe c1978, they offered a blaze orange and a bright yellow option, marketing them as safety features. I think it's that timeframe most people associate with coloured leather, hence a lot of why folks get wary of it. Shame, really.

Major Major's blue Aero Marine with handwarmer pockets was a stoater!

Yeah, I've long had one of these on my 'want' list. I've only got, I think, four more jackets to go before I have to bite the bullet and decide whether I want slash pockets instead of the patch standard options, and whether I want to go for the blue rather than one of the russet Vicenza hides.... #firstworldproblems #isitanywonderistrugglewithsavings #don'tyoujudgemeicanstopbuyingjacketsanytimeiwant

I sent an email asking for a pic of the blue next to a sample of black to try to gauge the difference. Holly said you can hardly tell the difference. I would love to know how it will age, and see the difference after 6-12 months regular wear.

It sounds very much like what has beocme known as 'tea core' in these parts, except with a blue undertone rather than a brown one. That does hold a very significant appeal for me. I think it was Austin black that, back in the thirties, had a blue undertone, while the British Fords were painted black with a red undertone.

Thank-you, Gentlemen - your comments are much appreciated.

Would they make an A2 in blue? Im considering it for Christmas if it can be done idk why...

I don't see why not. I've seen Aero A2s made in all sorts of hides over the years, including black FQHH. I don't imagine it would be a problem - worth dropping them a line.
