Once I actually had all the blue samples in hand, I realized that a blue leather jacket would scream "Hey, look at me, I'm a dodgers fan!" It has to be very blackish to be cool IMHO.

That's almost exactly what I thought as I looked at them too! Then, the 80's came to mind, and I lost all interest. Funny period that was - lots of us were ready to do it but then we all woke up or something

I'd still do it. Samples are for wusses. :)

Except, I think I'd want the color to stay relatively uniform after it ages. I saw a pic of a used blue goat LVC or an Aero and the lighter blue undercoat threw the look off and made it look kind of messy IMO. A flat blue would be ideal for me. Not too over the top at all. Lewis has a nice darker blue they use. I also dig the LW olive horse. I'd probably inquire to see what color the CXL would age to.

However, when I'm in a hippie mood I start thinking about the Thedi forest green. First world problems...

The Thedi green is fantastic! Don't forget, Gen. Patton designed a forest green leather jacket for our tank corps. A man of vision. If he'd lived, I feel certain he'd have been a regular contributor to this forum.

FWIW, I have a navy blue leather Vanson jacket that I've worn A LOT over the past several years, and the color hasn't faded or deteriorated at all (though I'm not sure if it's CXL).

I have no problem with colored leathers on women, but I personally am not ready to venture down that road . . . . for the time being, I am sticking with browns and black.

The best color for a men's leather jacket is a brown based black, or a dark or medium brown/seal. No need to try and get all cute with other colors

Sorry Sloan and Major- if you're reading this, but that's what did me in....too much of a varsity jacket for me. I know he looked at a lot of blues too.
I can't really tell what the OP jacket looks like because of all the reflections, but if it were almost blackish-blue, it could be very nice....

Ok Gents,
Since you're discussing blue jackets again, I'd suggest pairing them with these:

Wolverine 1000 mile- $250
Much more affordable than the Lofgrens, and they look pretty awesome with some wear on them.

I sent an email asking for a pic of the blue next to a sample of black to try to gauge the difference. Holly said you can hardly tell the difference. I would love to know how it will age, and see the difference after 6-12 months regular wear.
