Hi everybody,
I'm a new guy on the forum. Thanks a lot in advance for welcoming me among your distinguished crowd.
I couldn't find any "presentation" topic so here I go:
My name's Emmanuel, i'm a French dude living in France, married to an American wife. I work as a nurse in a psychiatric clinic.
I'm passionate about History, classic literature, clothing, antique firearms, old motorbikes, guitars and vintage video-games.

I fancied a really nice A2 for a long time, but somehow couldn't justify spending a huge amount of cash for one (low wage job). My Cooper A2 was quite trustworthy so far, still I longed for something more authentic. Things changed last week when I pressed the trigger on an Ebay listing which caught my attention. :)

So here it is, my new "used" A2 from Aero leather, it's a model 42-15142-P in russet Goatskin, size 46.
I'm so happy about it.
I must say that I was extremely worried the jacket wouldn't fit me, as I read those repros are very tight fitting compared to modern ones.
It was my lucky day because this jacket actually feels like a second skin!

Price was right and it has been worn quite a fair bit by the previous owner.
There is light scuffing on the seams, however it still looks good and there aren't any rips, stains or tears.

I'm now thinking about saving money for another one!

Thank you for your welcoming!
I really appreciate you guys agreeing on the fit.
This is the most expensive piece of clothing I own, and it's good to know it suits me well.

The boots are Red Wing's Iron Rangers.

Emmanuel, mate, excellent first post and welcome to the Lounge!

Jacket looks perfect in just about every way. Congrats on a really great purchase! I love it when people get their first serious jacket, it's a really great feeling.

Félicitation, le blouson te va vraiment bien, bravo !
Et aussi bravo pour ton métier qui ne doit pas être facile tous les jours.

One of these days I need to get an A2, it's the only style I'm missing...

Oh, I Love that book. St Exupéry is one of my favourite writers.
Have you read Flight to Arras?

How could he not be anyone's favourite writer! :D

Haven't read Flight to Arras, yet. Want to badly but I can't find it in English, where I am. I prefer to read books in the language they're written but as I don't know French, I'd rather go with the next best thing.

Though I haven't been reading at all in quite some time, now that I think about it... Heh.

When I get over my aversion for knit cuffs and waist, lol!

I have a letterman jacket but barely wear it because the cuffs and waist annoy me to no end

It's why I still haven't buy an A2

There are a number of manufacturers that will make custom leather cuffs and waist band, if that is what you desire.

...or an Indiana Jones version, which is basically an A2 without the knit cuffs and waist! :D

True! But the Indy jacket has pleats in the back for ease of use with a whip & revolver, it can look disgraceful on some people.
I tried that route before! It didn't fit me. :D
