Administrators: Please enable HTML code …

Dear administrators.

If you are the administrator of a spceific part of the Fedora Lounge, please turn html code on! (particularly Radio as i want to start a thread for which i need html enabled) There are some rooms where it is enabled, and others where it is not. This makes no sense.

Is there any good reason why html is disabled?

Individual bartenders don't have the ability to mess with that. It's just an oversight from when the individual forums were created. I'll talk to MK.

It may be that we don't want such things as video embeds in certain fora. I tried to embed a video of my cat in Loungers' Pets, which requires a gob of HTML to be pasted in. No soap; Display Case won't allow it to parse.

Do keep in mind, though, that not all of us are able to handle embedded video, at least not very well. I'm operating off a seven-year old computer, myself, which tends to choke and stall on such embeds.

I would suggest getting Firefox. With the AdBlock and FlashBlock extensions you won't end up with much to choke and stall on (but you can, if you so desire, enable a certain flash element to-for example-watch a video on youtube).

Just a thought...

And Firefox is free!
Of course, they also do upgrades every day or so, which can be tedious, but it always makes it run better.
Video would be great, we could really use it in Beauty where there are links upon links to tutorials...

I also use Firefox and have had significantly less problems than with Internet Explorer. I also really like how they have a spell checker for entries!

That has been my experience too. I still have to use IE for a few things but 98% of the time I use Firefox.

We have discussed the html issue and I have decided to allow it as long as it doesn't create a problem. I just need to find some time to get under the hood and make the changes.

I was wondering why I was having intermittent success at embedding vids here. :eusa_doh:
