Daid Morgan's website gives what may be the best definition of Heritage Quality:
The Heritage Collection presents a line of premium quality hats developed by Akubra. The felt in these hats is made from a select blend of specially graded furs of rabbit and hare which permit a longer and more...
We all know that Akubra's Silver Belly is more of a tan color and not as "silver" as the Stetson color. As theinterchange states, it is a valid question.
Cool your jets buddy.
Are we talking the current "Silverbelly" or more of the classic color? I already have the current Silverbelly but would be willling to spring for a different color.
I sent Panama Bob a couple of emails with some general questions but never received any response. Since his "sale" hats are selling fast I bit the bullet and ordered a size 7 1/2 white Cuencano; one of the only white ones left in my size. We'll see.
I just found this thread and since other men are posting here as well...................
Being a (very hairy) man of Italian/Sicilian descent, the thought of shaving my entire body (again) seems like a daunting task. In my twenties and early thirties I used to compete in bodybuilding. Since...
Hi Hatophile,
Seems like you guys "down south" got hit even a bit worse that us snow belters in Lake/Geauga county. In general we did luck out compared to what was predicted.
Tilley winter hat weather for me this week!
Hmmm. You should been around the Cleveland, Ohio area during the thirties when my parents were growing up and had to worry about "The Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run" (a.k.a. The Cleveland Torso Murderer). Even Eliot Ness could not solve that case.
Thanks EggHead and Monbla. I dropped Bob an email. I may order one of the sale hats if he gets back to me. In the meantime, I have a fawn Akubra Capricorn now and a grey Capricorn and cream Rink on order with Sam at EA. Should be here in time for summer and the brims on these polypropylene hats...
Concur wholeheartedly. Although it is brimmed, in weather like we have been getting I usually wear my wool Tilley winter hat (with built-in ear and forehead flaps). Got one for my wife this year and she loves hers as well!
I have been wearing mine several days each week since receiving it. A very good "winter hat" and I love how the color appears differently in various lighting.
Can anyone shed some light re. the size/dimension differences between the the (sale) Cuenca models: Cabellero, Cuencano, and Teardrop?

Similar reactions here. Only 5" 7" but 210 - 215#, former competitive bodybuilder with (what my wife always tells me) is a permanent scowl. Hats are probably just a curiousity to others.
Ah, now come on Monbla. you know that you would have a Camp Draft of they were sold here in the states. As for not being an authentic Aussie style, neither is the Bushman these days.
Mixed feelings re. a Moonstone CD here. I love the Camp Draft and have three colors already. I also have three Stylemasters, with the Moonstone being my favorite - and my wife's favorite of all. I have probably received more compliments on the Moonstone Stylemaster than any other hat. I tend to...
Get the Bushman too. I have the Fawn CD and have ordered a Bushman as well. There is enough of a color (and style/brim width) difference to make each unique. Actually I was debating between the mid-brown CD and the Bushman but the (olive tone) color and brim width make it more suitable for my...
