Oh no Worf. I am guessing your son has either graduated or is in his last year of college. At this point he showed be realizing how much you and his mother "have learned" in the past four years!
Today I dropped our youngest off at college - you are scaring me!
As an owner of many felts, Panamas, and poly Akubras I concur the the choice of a poly Akubra (Capricorn, Rink, etc) to deal with the random showers and heat and humidity of Florida.
What I fail to grasp is how one would keep their hat on while on the rides: keep one hand on your head at all...
Same issue here.
Which styles/contracts are the most "V" shaped?
Too often "slim" means shallow in the chest, narrow in the shoulders, and skinny in the arms.
Actually Jimmy Stewart had a very small build. At 6'3" he weighed 143# and had a hard time entering the service as a new recruit since he didn't make the 148# weight cut-off. Supposedly he gained some weight to gain accpetance but most say he used his influence to get a "pass".

My opinion is just the opposite of Tom's. I like Akubra's Moonstone color and own it in two hats: Stylemaster and FED IV.
The Bushman in Nullarbor Tan is my "go to" hiking/camping hat. I would not like this style in Moonstone.
IMO the Moonstone works better as a "dressier" hat while brown...
Some funny (and very familiar) stories here!
My wife doesn't have an issue with my purchasing $, but.............she does not understand why a man "needs so many hats, leather jackets, shoes, etc.". When I think objectively about it I must agree. I only have five or six leather jackets and I...
While I would (and do) wear a hat instead of using an umbrella when it rains, a man using an umbrella (parasol) to ward off the sun would be asking for some "unwanted" attention in most areas. Evan in my biggest and baddest days I wouldn't go that route.
