Madcap72, Royal Deluxe is a felt quality designation, not a style designation. Brim widths will vary by style. The brim width can also vary within a style.

Cole Haan made a classic lace-up saddle shoe that also works well.

Bailey continues to make fine western hats. To assume that all current/modern Bailey hats are cheap based on a few wool fedoras is to be seriously uninformed about the brand.

As a matter of fact, HATCO did produce a later version of the Whippet, as Steven of Bencraft Hats has noted in other posts. This was a pale shadow of the original model. I've not seen one but imagine that Steven could readily identify Matt's Whippet...
The Continental is/was a Stetson style. A Continental is not a Whippet . There have been several examples of the Continental posted on the FL over the past few years.
Does anyone have pictures showing a Continental stamp on a sweatband and a Whippet designation in the liner of the same hat? If...
I had a conversation with JP about this recently. The ridge is easily obtained when reblocking a straw. He simply affixes a string to the part of the block where he wants the ridge before putting the hat on the block.
