Mr. P., You may well be the first recipient. I just checked my front door and the eagle has not landed on my porch yet. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. Congratulations!
Me too. I do the same thing with the odd business card from time to time.
I once asked an ebay seller to look behind a sweatband for a size tag. They didn't find a tag but they did find a c-note.
SWEET !
gtd, That Black OR is terrific. While I tend to favor the thin ribbons, that one looks very good as it is. If you change the ribbon, please keep me in mind. I may have a use for that AF ribbon. ;) :)
Marc, Thanks for posting a terrific interview. There are so many references in the interview to articles and books that I now have to read.
Unfused collars! Where does one find Mercer shirts?

1. Why do you wear a fedora of all hats, what does it mean to you?
I wear fedoras, as well as other hats, because it feels natural to have a hat on my head. Fedoras look good, provide good insulation and shade when needed, and can enhance any outfit.

It's a nice looking hat as it is if you elect to keep the...

Good point. Which is why an OR clone may be a better grade felt against some Open Road models by Stetson. Even at that, the quality of felt in the clones can vary as widely as the quality of felt in the Stetson OR's.
If we were only discussing the Akubra Campdraft, which was marketed as...
That's a good price for an electric stretcher. I met with Jimmy Pierce yesterday and we were discussing this type of stretcher. He sold one he bought when Stetson closed their St. Louis factory to a member here (JT, You beat me to it.) for $250.00. Wish I'd seen that auction. [huh]
Nope, It's not your imagination. In many cases the felt used in the clones is better than the felt in many (especially modern) ORs. IMHO, the felt in my Shudde Bros., Beaver Brand, and Borsalino OR clones is definitely superior to that of most (not all) of my Stetson ORs. Not to mention the fact...
The Revisionist Version
Ah...I see they play the arcane snorkle-as-mallet rule in your environs. I was unaware that such Luddites still played the game. :cheers1:
