RE-TRENCH
Arrived today. Very nice condition with just slightest fray at cuff ends, correctable by 1/8" shortening, and the usual tears to the hip pocket lining at the top but very nice and complete. Hardly any wear to the leather buckles. It has the useless strap under the collar and some kind...
Ach du Leiber!
The lapels and pleats should help the smarter members id this. What a great suit and great condition. Think of all the worthless Weimar reichsmarks those pockets must have carried.
I'd guess '30's.
Nylons
My recruiter gave me the tip on the nylons and I managed to get a small patch into the barracks. He also mentioned the lighter fluid for stripping off the quartermaster but we didn't have that and no one could collect enough of the platoon sergeant's spit to substitute.
Ressurection!
Now on with the resurrection! I used an applicator brush to put the wax on, just 'cause I was lazy and wanted to be quick about it. the left shoe is in it's previous condition in each pic so yous can follow what I'm doing and compare. Left: straight out of the box.

Federation veneration
Just ordered my third Fed IV: the tawny fawn (who names these colors?). I am satisfied with the Imperial Quality. I'm sure the deluxe is better but I think these look fine and honestly, I need the slightly stiffer felt because as much as I enjoy obsessively fiddling with...
Trews truce
Wouldn't you get a lot more 'milage' out of that combination? The houndstooth and tartan would become a lot more 'familiar' than something less dramatic.
Trip, no tip
Heinrich Mueller would be one customer it would not pay to nick an ear. We can only guess there was no tip for this cut. What, Mueller said, "Oh, well, I feel like something totally different today. Let's try, uh, medieval Norman!.... You know, the Fuhrer has that notion of...
Hair on yer chest
How many guys will come in asking for the 'Heinrich Mueller"? That is one 'bad' haircut, in every sense. I wonder if his barber survived the war?
And....what did MRS Mueller say when he came home with this? "Did you actually PAY for that?"
Even "Hangman" Heydrich can't...
The Boots get the boot
I love Todd's site and have bought most of the items except the jacket and hat. I bought the boots and loved how they looked but when I looked very closely at them I concluded they were not real leather-a very convincing facsimile but not genuine. A look at edge of the...
Do You Feel Lucky Today?
I had the coat he wore in Pale Rider, which is almost identical, made last year by Jeff O'Donnell at The Quartermaster Shop in Kimball, MI, . Made in a fairly heavy coat weight smooth finish wool. Just the thing to wear when confronting a platoon of gun slingers. Give...
Soles to Last
Mycroft and Wingnut have described the best practices to maintain shoes for the long walk. I would distinguish the care given work/outdoor shoes and dress/dress casual shoes. You may want your 'work' or knockabout shoes to get pretty tatty before giving them a good stripping...
Suits me
Not a bad looking suit and right for the season here. Looks like the suit I bought (or rather Mom bought me at age 16) in 1969, a "Mr. Pogue" gray herringbone tweed. The pants succumbed to my youthful taste years ago but I still have the jacket and wear it despite my wife's pledge to...
