Why does it have to be immediate? Why not just treat it the same way you would a land line? No one is forcing you to answer it right away. I screen my calls on my land line caller ID and if I don't want to talk to them or don't recognize the number, I ignore it. Why can't it be the same way...
That may not come from a lack of being able to think for themselves. I remember a lot of times being in an unexpected situation that I could have figured out for myself, but didn't, because I thought I would get in trouble if I didn't do it EXACTLY the way I was told.
As for computers...
I've been toying with the idea of making a hair switch from my own hair, but haven't been able to find anything online that shows how to go about doing it.
My hair is thinning rapidly and it would be nice to have something that would give the impression that I have a lot of hair, even if...

I watched this and was fascinated; I've never read or seen anything about the case so know almost nothing about it. I thought it interesting that a third suspect that has arisen over the years is John Noles (Knowels?) who one...
The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Great news!
I've never had any problem with missing/stolen mail, but I did have a negative altercation with our mail carrier a couple of years ago. I was in my front yard doing yardwork, and my dog was outside with me. When the carrier walked up, my dog...
So what is the appropriate timeline for discussing things that happens on a TV show? Do we need to do a poll each week to make sure everyone has seen it before discussing? You are right, if you don't want to find out what happens before you've seen the most recent episode, then don't read this...
When I saw this spoiler that Sybil and Tom would die this season, I assumed they would die at the same time, perhaps something related to his Irish activism like they'd both be shot or blown up or something. So sad to see tonight that she died in childbirth. :( Now I'm dreading to find out...
Yes, that was really out of left field for them to do that to Edith. Regardless of his age, I thought the whole point of upper class marriage then was to secure a good position?
I loved the 'indoor picnic' and that it was more of a success than if the dinner had gone off unhitched. :)
Oh we still use the VCR side frequently. I have a ton of tapes of old movies that I recorded off the TV and when we were getting ready to get rid of cable in 2011 (goodbye, TCM, sniff) I was recording stuff like crazy. I have a lot of old rare stuff too, from the AMC days 20,21 years ago...
Really? Good thing for me to keep in mind, as we have a DVD/VHS combo recorder and it was my intention to burn DVDs of the movies I had taped off of AMC and TCM that aren't available to buy on DVD. I guess I'll hang onto those VHS tapes a little longer then....
I think the only way to truly get a sense of what different people were experiencing during that time period is to read true accounts from people who lived through it, or talk to them (if you can find anyone you know still alive that lived through it). Times were tough all across the board, but...
I stumbled across this a few days ago and since then, have been devouring it as fast as I can.
Dorothy (Dot) kept a daily diary in 1945, at the age of 16, detailing the trials and tribulations of a teenager at that time. Sometimes mundane, sometimes steamy soap opera, it's a snapshot in time...
