Thanks for the tip, Miss Neecerie! I've tried the glove thing before with jojoba oil and it just never worked for me because it was light enough to just all get absorbed by my gloves. I tried the Neutrogena last night and noticed a difference after a single night.
Try going into the thread, and then selecting "search this thread" and search for Mac. That should be a faster way to find the info you're looking for.
Check out the red lipstick thread. There are tons of mentions of Mac colors in there. You'll probably see that Russian Red and Ruby Woo are the favorites. I also like Glam, which has a pinker tinge to it.
I'm not really a 20s gal, but whether or not it's an authentic look, I say pair it with a mid-salf length gored skirt that fits through the hips and flares a little at the bottom.
I think it really comes down to preference rather than what looks best. A lot of estheticians have completely thrown out that summer/winter/cold/warm BS.
I pretty much only wear silver - not because it looks best, but because it's my personal preference. I say wear what you like and screw the...
I have a white Rago 1359 (Shapette extra firm) OB girdle, 6 strap, size 30. It has no tags but I have never worn it other than to try it on. Retails for $34 at Girdlebound. I'll take $25 + shipping.
IMPORTANT PSA ABOUT MAC!
That deal they have where you bring in 6 lipstick tubes and get a free lipstick?
All Mac containers count, not just lipstick! Mascara tubes, lipsticks, powder compacts, eyeshadows, foundation....
I just bought some new items today that I know I'm going to love!
Desperately wanted a basic garter belt for the times when I'm wearing stockings but don't need or want the firm support of the panty girdles I usually wear. I'll admit that they're also in my lingerie drawer in case there's a...
I think most gals here consider the Rago 1359 OB girdle (or the Rago Lacette OB) to be THE de facto starter girdles. I personally don't like it because I have problems with girdle roll at the top, but the 1369 was the first one I purchased on recommendations from this place. My unworn 1369 will...
Or if there's no register in sight that's open! Every time I go to Macy's, I have to circle the entire floor to find an open register. It's ridiculous.
No kidding. The level of support just doesn't even come close.
Marzipan, if you can't find a vintage girdle that works for you, try a modern Rago one! Many of their girdle designs (most of their OB and their corselettes) are the same cut and fabrics that they had when they started in the...
50s all the way, though i do like 40s stuff as well. I find that their shape complements my curvy figure well and it's also easier for me to find affordable 50s dresses that fit. Also, I really, really hate the frequently heavy shoulder shape of 40s dresses. Shoulder pads went out after the 80s...
Yeah, you don't want the VS ones. First off, they'll provide no support. They probably also have plastic garter clips, which are worthless. I would go for a Rago panty girdle. They have a light control one that is quite comfortable.
No, but they're zebra-striped :)
They're strips of round foam, covered in fabric and they attach with snaps. I've posted about them in numerous places here, including earlier in this thread.
Has anyone here tried any of the following brands of corselettes?
Miss Mary brand corselette, no garters unfortunately, but they'd be easy enough to add.
Silhouette corselette. No picture of the OB one, but it exists
Silhouette suspenderless
Silhouette corselette
Miss Mary of Sweden...
