Is it just me, or are more people latching on to the "vintage brand" lately?
I'm not complaining - at least I don't feel like a total outsider in a niche of modern society. I don't want to speak too soon seeing as I don't know anything about this guy, but I do wonder how serious he is about...
Oh my, just saw this in the news (CNN is usually behind about 4 hours because they're busy reporting that one of their own reporters is gay - huge news to CNN).
My childhood seems to be dying around me. Bradbury and now Griffith.
Two things:
1. Perhaps the argument is to simply not purchase anything at all; i.e. to make do and mend. Often, purchasing some thing is an end in and of itself. The anti-consumerism talk that is bandied about here often highlights this notion. Should we discontinue buying things? Perhaps...
Wouldn't that be a hoot? You'd be sitting in the living room by the window for three hours waiting for your seeing-eye-cat to finish its nap. Then you'd end up outside under some bushes, into the back alley for lunch and then indoors again for another nap.
Now a dog...there's a fine animal.
This is true. I actually work in a barn next to a silo. lol More like a glass horseshoe, actually.
The bummer about Des Moines architecture is that we had TONS of really neat, really historical stuff, but Des Moines was specifically a coal producer and railroad hub, with very little else...
I do my best to use them as they were intended. If I use them online, it's often out of a journalist's habit when quoting someone; i.e. "We should all use an elipses...it's a wonderful tool," to replace "We should all use an elipses because I feel it's a wonderful tool."
You know, a good rule of thumb for men could be to treat any woman as one would treat their own sister, mother or grandmother. You would want to open doors for your mom and grandmother; you'd want to help your little sister lift some heavy boxes. It's a fellowship thing, it should reside deep...
Thanks for the heads up, Joel.
I have a feeling "Wrinkle resistant; Stain release", including the overall price, indicates there's a bit of poly in the blend, but it's hard telling with the current methods of cotton production. I would think if these were 100% cotton, they would say so...
I hear that, Lizzie. When I'm sick - it had either better kill me, or leave me alone. I don't have the time or money to screw around with a scheister who needs to meet his target for the month.
That's right. I think people would be sick if they knew just what they were paying for - but the would perpetuate the cycle, no wouldn't it. lol
Whether the recent Supreme Court decision is good or bad, we should at least know what we're dealing with.
Nope, they must be looking over the IA border - that's us. ;)
You're lucky to work in a 1927 building. We tear ours down in Des Moines just willy nilly.
The US system as follows: (Let's use a hypothetical inpatient surgery; e.g. gall bladder removal.)
Overall
You have pains Monday evening, you call an ambulance, you go to the hospital. They run some tests, probably an x-ray, an MRI and some blood tests. They find your gall bladder is on the...
In case anyone is interested:
Rebel Style - Nick Waterhouse
I've never heard of this person, and I've never heard his music. Thought some of you folks might like the article seeing as he seems to be vintage-minded.
