Digital watches are and were all in 24 hour. Saves math when you're tired. Mostly wear watches with hands anymore, civilian-side. They can give me navigation tips. :D

    What if WWII didn't happen

At some point maybe. For the next few decades though all they're building are future sea life habitat if they decide to get froggy.

    What if WWII didn't happen

John, I was going to mention that. Between Stalinism and Japanese Imperialism we would have been fighting someone by the '50s.

Yep, the 5x8 ones with fabric over cardboard. Just looked at one of mine, there's no brand name on it. Mojave Jack works on 29 Palms (Yuma?), he can buy them from the Exchange. Maybe hit him up? You might also see if they are available from the Exchange's online.

My choice for recon missions was the green "rite in the rain" books. I used the hard bound "little green notebooks" for other day to day barracks use and on the range. Notebooks are skookum gear.

Anyone played the 1922-set Penny Arcade game yet?

Just wondering if anyone has run through it yet. Inspired by the pulps, looks funny, a bit Cthulu / a bit SteamPunk. Getting great reviews. http://www.rainslick.com/

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Leiningen versus the Ants. Great story, read it as a kid. It's one of those "Adventure Stories", like "Call It Courage" and "The Most Dangerous Game" that I think all boys should read. SPOILER It was also the basis for a McGyver episode. He melts a rubber hose to make an...

I like that pipe Matt, a lot. And the suit too of course. Though I have to say, if you are wearing that to camp outs, you aren't camping hard enough. :D Or else I've been doing it wrong. ;) How easy is it to get blood out of linen? Because that's a camping clothes issue for my...

That makes your reasoning clear. Outdoors versus rooms. Very insightful and a very subtle thought. Can't argue with that. Put me down in "The Great Outdoors" column. :eusa_clap .

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

BT- I do like the concept, and I too don't really care about the name. It just seems to me the concept needs to be defined first and the name chosen to reflect that concept. The original thread source, thus concept, was activity-specific "Adventure Gear". I'm using clothes and gear...

    The Adventurer's Gear Thread

That explanation makes sense BT. If it is going to be that broad though, is "The Great Outdoors" still the most apropos? Not to toot my own horn but that off-the-cuff "The Sporting Life" or something similar might be the more descriptive if we want to separate "activity" clothes from daily...
