Nice...when I was a kid we all wore those Wrangler jackets. I still wear Wrangler jeans, the real ones not the ones advertised on tv. For some reason they stopped making the jacket with the zig zag stitching. Last time I saw one in a store was ten years ago in Jackson Wyoming.
I think its great to restore them so they get used. I don't see the point in perfectly good horsehide sitting in a closet. I've had my local tailor fix several old jackets for me that needed linings or seams fixed. They might not be restored to period specs but they work just fine. I actually...
I avoid bidding wars first off. I have had some incredible deals on Ebay in the past year, I got an open crown Stetson Royal Deluxe that was mint for 50 bucks, looks like an OR and looks like it was never worn. Actually I got several like that which are very similar to OR's or Strats but only...
Interesting thread. I like my hats to come down to about a half inch from my ears. I hate when it feels like its sitting on top of my head. I also have a really egg shaped head so I need a high crown otherwise I can feel my head hitting the roof of the hat which I find really annoying. I have a...
Nothing wrong with a Sporty imo, I had one that I heavily modified for the dragstrip, was an awesome bike. I ride an FLH now, dont let the size fool you, they feel much lighter than they look unless you drop it of course. Check out a Softail Deluxe the seat hight is a rediculous 24.5 inches and...
Yeah, I've only ridden with these clubs here in the states so no clue about overseas but I guess its possible. Indian has been reincarnated again i only hope its better than the last company that tried to revive it.
Nice, one thing about Aero horse is that it breaks in quick, way quicker than Lost Worlds. I've had mine for less than a year and it already has some of that deep furrowing in places. It doesn't look like a new jacket at all anymore.
Sure, because they were on our side during the war. However you will not find a 1% club today with anything but HD's or old Indians, but they will allow Brit bikes to ride with them as guests or attend their rallies. Even so Brit bikes didn't start to appear in the US until maybe the late 50's...
Are you guys kidding me? That jacket has Harley Davidson or Indian written all over it. I have a similar jacket made by Sears but I have a lot of vintage horsehide and I always wear them on the road. When that jacket was made what kind of bikes do you think people were riding here in the US ?
I recently won on Ebay what I believe to be an original British Despatch Riders Trench. This is an incredible trench made of extremely heavy canvas with the big angled pocket in front. Excellent condition also. I still havn't figured what all the snaps and buckles are for inside. The amazing...
Stuart mentions on his site about a horse tannery that was burned down by PETA. These morons are so freaking clueless, I'm amazed that the FBI allows them to exist, they are terrorists. I know here in Jersey it is illegal to bury a horse on your property, and believe it or not there are alot of...
