This one.
I was out for lunch today and I saw a man of about 65 wearing an electric blue sleeveless t-shirt, tie-dyed rainbow shorts, silver wrap-around shades, a fatigue cap and rubber sandals and---a ring in his ear.lol
I'm not kidding. I see this sort of getup all the time now...
I recently acquired a neat old Bulova wrist watch. I have used pocket watches since I was a LOT younger.
I remember my parents telling me that a gentleman in a business setting or out for the evening should wear a leather band, but I can't remember if they stipulated it should be black or...
I'd love to have that Leica, but am in no way in that purchasing power bracket. I just today received my first digital camera, a NOS Samsun NV10. Has a decent film camera vibe and good reviews. Might fit your requirements.
Off topic but perhaps of interest to those who like me live in a no-switchblade jurisdiction: I recently bought a Spyderco Military, which while thumb operated opens as fast and easily as an auto, but has the advantage of being extremely practical as an EDC utility or hunting knife. Lovely...
Jack, I have no exp. with that exact beret, but it LOOKS precisely like my German military, and this one is excellently made and durable. Been wearing it off and on for 15 years.
Can't really argue with you M19 addicts, but for my purposes I like the old M13 better, with the heavy barrel and the smooth sites. Like the older style vibe better, no chance of the site getting knocked about or hung up. My favorite modern wheel gun. If I couldn't get my mitts on an old 1911...
I've had a look around the net and cannot find a reference to identify a vase I saw in an antique store today. I am possibly interested in buying it, and seem to vaguely remember this mark, but am at a loss.
The piece has an arts and crafts or even perhaps early Deco look with an aqua colored...
:eusa_clap Wow, those are great sites! Ta very much. I see the one I was looking at is certainly not of line on the price. Starting to get rather enthused about these.
Yes, I think you're probably right about finding a vintage one for a lot less money, it's just finding one. Not something you see very often. Could probably count on one hand the number of originals I've ever seen anywhere. At any rate, I guess I have all winter to find one now. Getting hold of...
Since we don't have a feedback section on FL, I just wanted to say here that I recently bought a nice old Bulova watch from Undertaker, and it arrived very well packed, turned out to be a really great watch, VERY reasonably priced. Anyone should know that he is a fine seller in all ways.
When I was into it, most arhaeos I knew in the Southwest dressed pretty much like working cowboys. Right down to the straw western and boots. On one dig in Arizona the women didn't even wear shirts. Some of them got a nice all-over tan while at the same time prettying up the scenery.
I really enjoy seeing these pics of the big, floppy berets. Worn that way, they make real sense as a weather-defeating garment. Up here in Canukistan the soldiers also heavily shrink their berets, so that they end up with this tiny, strange looking little beanie sitting way up high on their...
Always wanted one of those small vintage-type teardrop trailers, they would be perfect for one guy or a couple to get off up into the woods for the weekend hunting or fishing, and I think they look just fantastic, as well as being small, light and aero-dynamic. I finally turned up a company...
Thanks Mav. Kind of you to say so. If I ever get down with these new-fangled digicameras, I'll post a pic. I bet it'll be the most degenerate looking OR ever picture on FD.lol
For the last few days I have been wearing my thoroughly beat up and disreputable fairly modern OR. Indian beadwork on the crown, buckskin thong for a hat band, curled brim, crown punched out and front/side bashed all to hell. Filthy dirty and sweat-stained. Feels great, looks terrible, I love...
I've just ordered a Samsung NV10 that to my eye has a bit of that vintage Leica-ish vibe. Black metal body, 10 mp, 3x optical zoom Schneider-Kreuznach lens. Can't post a pic cause I don't have it yet.:p
Google it though if you wish, it might appeal. Lots cheaper than some of the look-alikes.
