Proper Attire for attending the Met?

Over doing it really - you will stand out like the proverbial sore thumb. Maybe tone it down by dropping the weaistcoat (vest)?

    New DB Suit, for $70

You will have got what little you paid for but if you are happy with it that is all that matters. The concept of a fused suit suit from man-made fibres will find little favour here or more generally. To discuss the finer points of fit is irrelevant and unfair to you. On the opoint you...

    What the heck is this?

Costume probably, possibly uniform but does not have the (false) gravitas associated with such uniform. The cheap nature of the construction suggests the former.

    Handkerchiefs and Pocket Squares

This is not mentioned because pocket squares do not have a place in a waistcoat pocket, not now, nor ever in the past nor the future. The pockets may be used for a watch and other off small item gathered during the day but not otherwise. The coat has adequate pockets which are less obtrusive.

Jacket: Not vintage, but will it pass?

If you like it,then that is what counts, not views here.

    Funeral Attire...

How do you pretend to know that it was not the deceased wishes that people wore jeans.....

Is a vest meant to hold you in?

No: It is NOT a corset.

An Open Letter to Matt Deckard

Has the photo shoot taken place yet? I think we all look forward to this with great expectation.

How often do you dry clean?

I have to say that I never found an Ascot Chang shirt (from whom I get my shirts) suffer from any adverse reaction. I expect any decent shirt would be the same.

How often do you dry clean?

Assuming that your bodily hygiene is normal and that you do not spill your soup on the thing then once every couple of years is quite sufficient. Shirts and underwear on the other hand should be washed after each wearing. The 'T' suggested lower down is not needed unless you sweat unusually - in...

How hard is it to find a nice DB suit these days???

£210 is a reasonable price for such a suit. Whether you like it or not eBay or charity shops for second hand stuff are your only cheaper options presently.

An Open Letter to Matt Deckard

If you look at MD's post of 15 April, the shoot is to take place next month. presumably he has another photographer.

An Open Letter to Matt Deckard

Hopefully all the areas mentioned "The fit, fabric, construction, silhouette, lining, buttons, buttonhole work, and dozens of minute details are just outstanding" can be seen. I'll add the suit being worn without the coat so all the details of the trousers can be seen - pockets, back formation...

    Black Suit

That's fine. Is the suit a modern one?

    Advice needed on this suit

Working purely from your photographs and taking no account of why one might question your posture - the right sleeve and both legs need shortening. Quarter inch or a slight bit more for the sleeve and 3/4 - 1 inch for the legs. You have indicated that the right sleeve may be damaged: If so...

    Tweed for a Wedding Suit?

I would see no great problem with it. It is your wedding and your call, no one else's - and it is a damn sight better than those that wear evening dress for a daytime wedding. Good luck.

    Tailcoat

A red lining would be redolent of the ring master at a circus.

    My son's Easter suit.

Seems somewhat gross to dress a child of this age in this way.

How much to pay a tailor

If he were to agree then the charge is what he asks for not what anyone here thinks it should be. He runs his shop to sell clothes not support his competitors.
