I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this before, but I was recommended this wonderful online radio for 1940s and wartime music: I cannot stop listening to it. There are songs I've never heard before.

A little trick I did with my other half's shoes, which were one size too small, is I put some water in a sandwich bag type thing, tied it up, put it in the shoes and put the shoes in the freezer. It stretched it out a full size and the shoes now fit his feet perfectly. It's cheaper than going...
I love it too!!! I love the theme tune! Like you I watch it on the net. I found it on www.tvshack.net. I'm not sure if they have all the new episodes on yet, haven't checked.
I'm sure someone will be able to answer this better than me. I haven't got oily skin, but I do know that oil dissolves oil. To train my hair to last a whole week without a wash I put olive oil on it twice a week before a wash and within two weeks I could leave my hair for longer than a week...
I think it looks vintage, depends on the length of the dress though. I've found that even with clothes that are not entirely vintage looking, simply doing hair and make-up in 40s style changes the whole meaning of the outfit. I personally really like that dress and will have it if you don't...
I love this thread! Here's my half German Shepherd, half Belgium Shepherd called Brandy.
Here's my other dog, a 13 year old Jack Russel who has arthritus. I made her a ramp this weekend so she can get in and out of the cat flap on her own. We also have two cats, but I can't find any...
I've read a few dog behaviour books and one thing I know you should not do if a dog is afraid of fireworks is give them treats and lots of attention. It acts as a reward for the feared behaviour and conditions the dogs to react the same every time they hear fireworks and even heightens their...
I feel exactly the same way! I've only just realised in the last few years you can be alternative without being a goth. I never went really extreme, but it was just to show that I was different, and like you said, show commitment.
My friend had tattoo removal and she said it cost the same...
Yesterday I obtained the most horrible wife-beater burn marks while making a ramp for my arthritic dog so she can come in and out of the cat flap. I'm quite bad at remembering to put suncream on.
But if I'm at the beach or I know I'm going to be out all day and it's really sunny I use P20...
Well I think I'll jump on the bandwagon as well here, as I simply cannot find anyone who I think I look like and no one has ever compared me to anyone except Betty Boop and Marylin Monroe, of which I look like neither.
Hehe, I think she bought it online. She's out of the country at the mo so I can't check. I can understand why it could feel yucky, but I'm skint so it's the best I can do, plus waste not want not...I think that can be applied to hair
How strange, I was looking at this thread yesterday before anyone updated it...making my own hair rat now.
Anyway I know someone who bought one of those Vidal things to poof up the back Amy Winehouse style, but she said she needed to put grips in it to help it hold as the comb just kept...
I think my upbringing paved the way, as it were, to a vintage lifestyle. My primary school was private and very much run as though it were a 40s/50s school. The manners, courtesy and the whole ethos was very, very old fashioned. As I grew older and more experienced, I saw how ill-mannered...
I just bought the whole of Goodnight Sweetheart for 20 squids, I used to love it as a child. I'm on series five and it only arrived 3 days ago. I've literally been watching it non-stop. I love it so much! Not keen on the second Phoebe though.
Eek they did. When you're pregnant sometimes your teeth become loose and in the old days (not sure exactly what decades) dentists would just pull them out. That's how my grandma lost her teeth. It really is yucky.
