That's the one I use as night cream. I tried it in the morning but I just look like I've dipped my face in chip oil for most of the day, but it seems to work great overnight.
When my hair was more layered, I sometimes wet the strand of hair with water as it stopped the flyaway bits and then did the victory roll. I put hairspray on it and just let it dry.
Personally I love the smell of Old Spice. However, my dad wears it, so if any man I want to be intimate with wears it anything further than a handshake is a no no.
Unfortunately I think it reminds a lot of people of older men and their dads/grandads, even though the smell is yummy :)
I have one of those face steamers and it seems to temporarily get rid of the blackheads and pores in my nose.
I too try not to obsess over what's in my products, but I did speak to a lady once who studied make up at college and she said she makes all her own make up from home. She said...
I did the pressing down with the edge of my nail thing and nail varnish still crept under. I just find it easier to do it freehand I think. Each to their own :)
I just remembered a question I was going to ask. I did the same 1940s manicure thing on my toenails. Would they have done this back then or just painted all of their toenails?
I'm so pleased, last night I managed to do a 1940s manicure freehand. I've tried the sticky guide things before, but somehow the nailvarnish has always got underneath. That's exactly what used to happen when I did French Manicures and I ended up doing that freehand as well.
How I think I...
For some reason no one was really like that. We knew we went to a good school, but none of us ever looked down on other schools as far as I can remember (except for the usual sporting rivalry). It wasn't like anyone was rich otherwise they would have gone to private school. We even had a fews...
I find that so strange. Whenever I'm in London no one even looks, let alone comments on the way I dress. I get a few stares from men, but that's about it and I've always had compliments. I've found in town there are just so many differently dressed people I don't stand out a bit. I've...
I bought some really cheap vaseline stuff that was meant for elbows and knees and dry spots. I didn't realise and used it on my face and it makes for such good night cream. It was only £3 and has lasted me two years so far using it every evening. I've never had problem skin, but it's made my...
That's why I said "similar" and "embraced" :) There aren't a huge number of people who dress extremely accurately in retro gear today. It seems to be a small handful. Others take inspiration and skew the accuracy to gain the look they want as people have always done. I think it would be...
No one's mentioned Teddy boys here, but they definately embraced fashions of a by-gone era. In the fifties they dressed in jackets and clothing similar to that of the Edwardian age.
I think every element of fashion gets recycled, but as some people have said already, we now have clothes...
Use the google search, it's much quicker and is generally more accurate. Go to google, click on advanced settings, type in what you're looking for and then fill the search from website bit in with www.thefedoralounge.com.
I'm fairly new too, but it seems ok to repeat stuff that's already been covered as people do forget and it means the newbies to the forum can join in again and recover issues.
This really is totally off topic, but once I had hiccups and I forced myself to believe hiccups didn't exist at all. They stopped within about 30 seconds. The power of the mind.
I am dying to go to the Quecumbar http://www.quecumbar.co.uk/ It's a lovely vintage themed bar with appropriate entertainment. It's not too badly priced either. I want to go!!! :P
