I loved the David Tennant Doctor Whos, but the writing for the new one has been appalling. I'm so sad Russel T Davis left because I found his writing excellent. I have no problem with Matt Davies as the new Dr, but there are just too many inconsistencies with the plot every week and severe...
I have a cuticle remover cream and it works wonders. It takes off just the amount your nails need. I first rub the cream into my nails, leave for two minutes, the push down with a rubber ended cuticle pusher (seems to be more gentle) and then cut the loose bits off if there are any. I do this...
Something I've found that works wonders and is light on hair is Bedhead Shine Spray. If you spray a little on your hair and you run your fingers through it to smooth it over any frizz looks shiny and non-frizzy. It smells gorgeous too.
If you search on ebay there's a woman in Scotland selling old stock, £7.99 for a 14g sized thing. I searched for max factor pancake and it came up. Tempted to get a couple :P
I couldn't find any thread about the great detective and wondered which series were peoples' favourites.
I've got to say I worship Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. I honestly think no one can beat him.
Not only is he the perfect actor for the part, but the clothing is impeccible and very...
I never go to hairdressers, been there twice and always hated it..
It is almost like they always follow some recipe instead of trying to create what the customer wants??
I know! I hate the hairdressers! Every time I go I ask them specifically and really emphasize that no hairdresser has done...
I completely agree with you, good manners is good manners regardless of gender. I'd just like to clarify that I term hardcore feminists as those women who think they're better than men...the extreme extreme end of the scale. Sorry I should be more clear. It seems that across the board the usual...
Hey, I've managed to find an online retailer for Max Factor Pancake foundation in England, but I don't know which shade to buy as obviously I can't test it. I'm fair skinned, but only turn an ivory shade in winter. So I was wondering which shade I should buy, natural no.1 or natural no 2? If...
Hello fellow newbie,
I agree completely about the long dresses thing. The more I dress in vintage wear, the more I actually begin to see how short the other girls clothes are! And how revealing. I definately now find ladies sexier who leave something to the imagination.
Pain doesn't even begin to describe epilating down there. I have fortunately trained myself to do the majority of the top growth (if that makes sense) and around the underneath, but any closer and it is just too painful, even screaming doesn't help, so I just shave the rest off. But the...
Ooo something I've also had a lot of lately is men offering to do things, holding doors open, male staff treating you better than other women around (i.e. pushing you up the queue) and other such considerate things that didn't happen before I dressed like this. I suppose dressing like a lady...
In most restaurants I go, service is included in the bill at 12.5%. If this service is what I'd expect, I pay the included service, if it is appalling I don't pay the whole bill (just the food, drinks). If it exceeds my expectations I pay more than 12.5%.
With regards to other areas of...
Sorry I didn't mean funny in a sense of hilarious, but funny in the sense of quirky. I know it was off topic, but I didn't mean to offend anyone by it, just thought I'd share it with people. I think that books sounds like my sort of book so I'll have to look into getting it. Thanks for the...
I wasn't too sure where to put this link, but it's a demonstration on how to wear the same dress 7 days in a row, which I suppose could provide wardrobe essentials ideas. I'm not sure I'd be too happy wearing the same dress for seven days, especially if "Lancelot" were to come over...
I love horror movies, but unfortunately most of them never scare me. The ones that did send shivers over my spine, however, are:
Wolf Creek
One Missed Call (the Japanese version)
The Fourth Kind (debateable whether or not it's a horror).
It is a fantastic film and again one I never get bored of watching. I have to say I enjoy the bit when Bob Hoskins puts Judy Dench on top of the filing cabinet and she can't get down.
I absolutely love Gordon's Wine Bar. Although I agree it tends to be overcrowded, I love the atmosphere, the dank, dark cellar with cold stone walls, but moreso I adore the newspaper clippings which cover the walls. Some of them go right back to Queen Victoria. I could sit reading them for hours!
