    The A-2 review

Imahomer, Aero, Eastman and Real McCoy (New Zealand)--note the alphabetical order--all offer top-notch, extremely authentic, high quality a-2s. Problems you will run into with all three: each has different fit characteristics (sometimes different models from the same manufacturer fit...

    Ebay schlockiness....

My (unsolicited) advice, Robert: You're tilting at windmills fighting these hucksters. The potential victims of these overpriced, misrepresented products are not going to pay any attention to you. A smart buyer will do his homework (both regarding ebay and panama hats). The not-so-smart...

    "Piece of Cake"

I just saw the post from Schwammy talking about Alistaire Cooke and "Masterpiece Theatre." It reminded of an MT presentation I saw about 10 years ago called "Piece of Cake." It was a several week long mini-series about the "false war" just before the Battle of Britain. The period when...

    Book Suggestion: Bias

Hey, what about us moderates?!!! Can we read it too? Are we legitimate? (sudden flashback to "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"--the little girl saying, "But Daddy, you ain't bona fide!") It's great fun being a moderate--I get to disagree with both conservatives and liberals:fedora...

    What's a wind trolley?

Re: Wind Trolly - Wind Catcher Ah ha! Then I'm not a complete idiot for not being able to figure how they were used (always a refreshing revelation). The one I saw was a "faux" trolley, like you describe. I couldn't figure out how in the heck it would keep your hat from blowing off.

    What's a wind trolley?

More newbie ignorance. I've seen one, so I know what it looks like. But what does it do? And how does it work?

    Book Suggestion: Bias

I haven't rocked the political boat lately, so hear I go: I don't believe there is a significant liberal bias in the media. WHAT?? No, I'm serious. Now, understand, I'm talking news reporting, not op/ed columns--those are supposed to be biased. There is no question, that most journalists...

Who would buy THAT?! - The crazy hats on eBay thread

JP, you're killin' me. I've gotta go through the rest of the day haunted with images of "Mr. Charles" and Janet Reno in my head. Thanks a lot!

Great new Golden Era movie: The Aviator

Oh yeah, I EXPECT Hollywood to screw it up. But, you know, every now and then, they get it right, in spite of themselves(Saving Private Ryan, Twelve O'Clock High, Das Boot, a few more). To be honest, Leo actually resembles the young HH to me. Who knows. Hope for the best.

    The A-2 review

If it matters to you, actual A-2s were never made in lambskin. Most were made of horsehide, a lot from goat, and possibly a few from cowhide. If that doesn't matter, then lambskin does make for a very nice, soft jacket that looks good and will distress quickly.
