If it is especially windy I wear a my Greek fisherman's cap. It is never mistaken for a ball cap. They come in several colors and materials even leather for bad weather wear. I've actually gotten compliments on it. Guess that's how ubiquitous damed ball caps have become- anything different...
I'm in that same size range and have the same variance as you. Other clothing varies depending on the manufacturer I've learned over the years. The way pants and shirts are cut are not universal when sizing is applied either. One company's large is another's ex-large etc. and so on.[huh]
If he's had the hat 8 years it got soiled on it own. Imagine all the ratting around in dirty places he does. Even if the hat stays generally clean as soon as you put yout hands on it you transfer grime to it. I notice when it's a tad windy he nervously keeps his fingers pinched on the brim as...

In every average neighborhood people are razing houses and erecting huge-assed 2 story eyesores beside 50s bungalows and ranch houses and they look totally out of place. There's one monstrosity on the next block from ne that was then stuccoed the color of baby poop. Well I guess that's earth tone!

Since my Mom died I'm planning on selling her full length muskrat coat. I must snap some pics and measure but it is truly in new condition right down to the lining. She was 5' 8" and about 140 lbs. in the days when she wore it last, about the 1950s. It will fit a larger woman though.
