    Birthdays

I'm with you Edward, I go to great lengths to make sure nobody knows when my birthday is at work. There are few things worse than an office birthday party. Some folks mean well, but they're still excruciating.

I would have paid anythng for that fabulous sweater too--I can see why you had to have it! Please post pictures of you wearing it when it arrives. The shoes are killer too. Congrats--great purchases.

    What are you wearing today??

Rubyredlocks you are really, really making me want to cut my hair again--yours looks so adorable. Love the outfit too. Volitile--your whole look is great but especially love the hat on the back of your head and the vest. Johanna--gorgeous as usual. How did you find a sweater that...

Today would have been Frank Sinatra's 92nd Birthday

Ah, Frank--you are missed! That stamp is great--I was a little worried about what the art would be like but it's a homerun in my book.

    Birthdays

My birthday is in mid-June--often during one of the first summer heatwaves. I generally get taken out to dinner by friends on the closest Saturday to "the day" rather than have a party. My birthday is rarely wonderful, rarely awful. It's usually pleasant.

    Decorating for the Holidays

I finished the mantle tonight. The creche is a family piece, a combination of at least 2 different ceramic sets made in Italy probably in the 1950's. I bought the larger pieces on ebay. They are all chalkware, made in Germany right after WWII.

Dare I start a doll thread?

Isn't she beautiful! Lovely job on the dress too. I've always wanted a Deanna Durbin doll.

A breakdown of Fedora Loungers by sex, location, age and marital status

Edward, for some reason this reminds me of what my mother frequently tells my 5'5" self; "Your father was 6'2" and I'm 5'11"...you're supposed to be taller!" Oops, sorry Mom, guess I just forgot to keep growing. My fault, clearly. ;)

    Let's See That Tree!

Your cat's sense of balance is most impressive texasgirl--I'm amazed that tree didn't fall over after your pet climbed so high into it!

    PBS "The War" Series

You know, I missed the last two episodes of this and I really want to see them. I'll have to check and see if they're reairing them over the holidays.

    Pale or Tan?

Oh, me too! You should see my arms--a veritible galaxy of freckles there. Not on my face though--odd that.

Ladies, what scents do you like on your men?

Another vote for the men's Chanel scents. L’Occitane has some very nice things too.

    Decorating for the Holidays

That punch bowl is lovely! I love the runner and the tray too (is the tray modern or vintage?).

    LADIES of the LOUNGE

You always post the best pics Clara--the Fay Wray one is classic! (Love your spotted coat too). Did you bring your own chains to lash yourself and your friend to the track or did the museum provide them?;)

To-day marks 70th anniversary of abdication

    Jewelry Chrismtas tree

Too much fun--both your trees look great! I love your Gene too (is that the Franklin Mint "shame" dress she has on?).

    My first pair of Churchs!

I'm in love but even the sale price sets my head spinning.

    What Are You Reading

I (finally!) just finished Rebecca. I want to start Atonement but I can't find a copy thanks probably to other like-minded moviegoers. I may start A Wrinkle in Time instead. I've never read it and I have a friend who's nudging me.
