I completely agree about the writing. Both the "stage trying to be a movie" thing and the song lyrics, which I really didn't think were that good. My favorite was "Love You I Do" which wasn't even in the show, it was written for the film.

I'll surely wear the green shoes with other colors/outfits too--I was just excited that the color green seemed to match so exactly despite the 60 year difference between the dress and the shoes.
I enjoyed Richard Halliburton's books--even though you know they were embroidered to the point of fiction they are a lot of fun.
Love the illustrators of those turn of the century adventure books--Wyeth, Howard Pyle, etc.
