A Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
Both of them were fantastic last night, and Jon's appearance on TCR still has me grinning this morning, "Can't a man wear acid washed jeans?".
It's a pretty dress--I think it has sort of a 1920's vibe--I'd do a largeish picture hat with flowers that would compliment those at the waist of the dress, but I'll be interested to hear other ideas. I'm diggin' the gloves too!
My horrible senior photos--1986--featuring the perm that would not die! The very best one seems to have disappeared--I'm sitting in front of a fake window with gauzy drapes and a painted backdrop--it's hideous.
I have no idea how I came up with this outfit but since I'm dressed like an adult...

Very cool! Thanks for the heads up on this!
The Gaza Siege Breaks
Feb. 4, 2008 | By Tim McGirk
The siege of Gaza, imposed by Israel after Hamas seized the Palestinian territory last July, ended abruptly...
Loads of Golden Age songs but the first three that popped into my head were:
Pulp;
TV Movie
Without you my life has become a hangover without end.
A movie made for tv:
Bad dialogue, bad acting, no interest.
Too long with no story and no sex.
Is it a kind of weakness to miss...
I saw her live in 1990 and got blisters on my hands from clapping so much--one of the best shows I've ever been to--she did most of her material from Shadowland and Absolute Torch and Twang. "I Wish I Didn't Love You So" and "Crying" were particularly incredible.
Another Ellroy fan here--parts of The Black Dahlia scared me so much I went to check the door was locked! Great writing style, psychological depth the the characters, real page turners but, boy, he's dark, dark dark! Cue up a Deanna Durbin film or the like to bring you out of it!
I've seen...
Okay, I finally found my high school formal dinner photo--May 1985. Not overly clear and my awful shoes are barely visible but a nice momento of my first good quality vintage piece, a black 1940s cocktail dress. How could I have left the house with this hair?! As an aside, this was about the...
I think you've covered all the bases here--a nice gift (or in your case, gifts), lots of time alone with you and a special dinner. The only other thing I thought of is a card. Something handwritten she can look at over the years would be the icing on the cake.
I'm sure she'll appreciate...
Great pictures Paddy! You should go in vintage dress for sure.
Is that a double decker tram in the background of one of your shots? I've never seen one of those.
How large is Beamish? Is it sort of like 1 Main Street or is it like a real town with side streets and such?
I think my favorite scene of hers is the "I'm Tired" number in Blazing Saddles (my favorite Brooks film after The Producers"). Lilly Von Schtupp, her take off of Dietrich is so dead-on. "I've been with hundreds of men! Again and again...!"
