Can you help me date this item??

That's what I meant, thank you for clarifying Kitty. That's the generic term, I wan't implying that was a Hermes.

    Dover books

I have that one here in the library. It really does not have very many pages of men, if that's what you are looking for. You'd be better off looking for an actual catalog, Sears or Montgomery Wards. I got a MW catalog for less than 20 bucks and it has about 700+ pages with everything you can...

Can you help me date this item??

I think it 50s. And I think the style is a "Kelly" bag, named after Grace Kelly, I believe. Here's a similar one for sale: http://www.kittygirlvintage.com/new3.htm

    Vintage Sailor Dresses

Here's a dress I won on ebay. The seller said it was a USO dress. I posted it in another forum-women/WWII forum, and they don't think it is. Oh well, it's still really cute. I think I could still wear it to a WWII event as a civilian? Any thoughts?

    Show Us Your Purchases!

We may be going to a couple WWII events, and I found this cute little dress! She said it's a USO dress. Anyone know anything about it? The pictures aren't too good, I'll post some when I get it.

Thanks! It's from a pattern I think was Charm Stars- I can't remember for sure. You were supposed to trade fabrics with others. That event looks really neat- I may have to plan a road trip!!!

    Taking measurements for Vintage Clothing

I've had the most luck in actually measuring something that fits me good and is similar in style and then comparing it to what I'm thinking of purchasing. It's a tricky business that's for sure. I've made a few mistakes as I'm sure we all have. Luckily, you can resell vintage items to one of...

    Quilts?

I do! I love making quilts- well the tops anyway. I send them off to get professionally quilted by machine. I just sent one off that I made for my parents for their anniversary. It's a memory quilt and has 8 photos of them on it. Their wedding picture, through the years, etc. Their 40th is Feb...
