This was posted on People's website- they have a jewelry Q & A.
Best Actress nominee Angelina Jolie paired her 115-carat emerald earrings with a 65-carat Colombia emerald ring (both from Lorraine Schwartz) on the Oscar red carpet.
Philip Seymour Hoffman explanation (and I read somewhere else he has dreadlocks and would rather be made fun of for the hat, than for his hair-lol)
Apparently, the "Doubt" star had a good explanation for his headgear. The actor's rep, Karen Samfilippo, told USA Today that he's wearing the hat...

Stayed the same this week. I bought an exercise bike though, so maybe next...
Overall, there could have been a little more color. So many white, ivory, silver dresses. That being said, Penelope was my favorite:
Penelope-
I love the color of this, but not crazy about the lace arm :
I love seeing Alicia all glammed up:
Anne is fabulous:

I saw that one too. I showed it to my husband and we were laughing. If you look closely you can even see the modern plastic tag thing going through it. I'll email her and see what she says- :p
Hmm, I don't know. God did not bless me with thick hair, mine's pretty fine. Did you have your head up in there pretty good? You may need one of the soft bonnet ones- but not that silver one you posted-lol!!!

That sounds fantastic! I have no idea on value though. I have several items from the 1933-34 Worlds Fair in Chicago. Mainly stuff I've bought for my husband. I do have a bracelet- I'll have to take some pictures.
There's a pair of these at my local antique mall in my size for $49. I keep thinking about them. They're black with brown fur though. I may have to go back and get them for a birthday present for myself. I just don't think I'd get to wear them much. Are they strictly 40s or did they have them in...
That reminds me of one I saw at an antique mall one day. Said it was from the 40s I think and it was like $200. It was the same quilt I got in high school- late 80s at JCPenneys! They had just washed it a lot or used it a lot or something- it was sure funny. I wish the owner of the booth had...
Welcome! How funny you saw the post :)
Last weekend I tried on a brown dress at an antique mall and had fun playing with hats to match. I don't wear much brown, but it was real pretty. It had little orange and ivory flowers with bits of green. Anyway, I tried all these brown hats with it and...
I was watching that one all week too. It was stable at 40 something all week with a buy it now of $135. Which was more than reasonable, just more money than I had to spend. Then everyone started bidding towards the end, and it finished at $131.95.
Just remembered to check this- foofoogal- lovely quilts! I love both- I think the first one is grandmother's garden
Here are some more of mine:
Album quilt- using 19th century repro fabrics

I saw this dress a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about it. It's just fantastic! Now, if she'd have a 75% off sale...
