I like Clairol 'Country Colours' in Grand Canyon. Semi permanent so doesn't dry my hair out too much.
Also like a less permanent version of the live colour, I can't remember what it's called but the shade is something choclatey and it's really cheap! (£2)

Hello!
Well, the wedding was a copy of one that took place at the house in 1940 for real, she carried a really simple bouquet of Lilies and greenery. What I don't know is if the lilies were real or not? Possibly wax?
Most 40s British weddings the bride carries something seasonal and...
Wow, the work on that!!!! beautiful and an heirloom to pass on too and so lovely that your aunt made it possible.
:)
The 'fake' wartime wedding we did went well, although I did two hairstyles as we had to do it twice, (sat/sun)
The dateline was 1940 so I wanted more of a celia Johnson...
Thanks Swinging Bee!
I find that when I do 40s events I eat less as I wear a long line girdle to hold my stockings up. (I eat even less when I do WW1 and wear a full length corset!lol )
It's odd what you say about friends, whilst I still love those friends dearly I have made new friends...
Some great hair gals!
Desi-Lu, why is grilled cheese so appealing after a few beverages? I always get like that too!lol
Can I ask what you ask your hairdresser to do re your bangs? I love the way it parts but the last time I asked she just cut me a straight across fringe and it looked...
Well done you two! What a difference!!!
I have been 'going it alone' and not weighing myself but going on inches lost. What I find disheartening is that I have some 'friends' who won't acknowledge my weight loss at all. I'm not imagining the inches! But they seem quite happy to keep me as...
Mason and Pearson brush. I dry my hair straight, then sleep overnight in big fat pincurls. Next day I brush it out root to tip and spray it will a light serum/finishing spray.
My hair is naturally in little spirals, so you can guess how curly it is!

Can I be the voice of dissent?
I really don't like the pictures, I know it's supposed to be 'retro style' rather than true authentic styles, but I don't like the pics very much. The little 50s crop (curly) well, the curls look kind of....flat?
Let me know how you all get on with it...
Lolita, loving the new length and (is it) a reverse wave on the front? Glorious!
Magpie annie, great do and I love that last frock-you remind me of one of the girls from Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop cafe! loving it!
I'm in a bit of a hair rut-I had a fringe (Bangs) cut and I was...
Lol, Sare...we all have those moments!
Love the whole look and you look so different from all the other guests but in a good way!
My sis gets married (again) on May 24th and I'm wearing a 50s inspired frock with loads of poofy petticoats.
I normally dress 40s, but am playing it down for the...
We're holding an event in June here in England and I thought you might like to see a couple of the publicity shots for the 'fake' 1940 wedding we're holding!
June 14th and 15th Sledmere House if anyone wants to come let me know!
Kate
(the 'bride' and 'groom' are friends of...
