    If you use the lightest weight one you can get, it might be ok as a temporary measure but do make sure you use an ironing cloth with it. However, in your shoes, I'd have it out, replace it straight away and pack the original taffeta in some acid-free paper.

    I have the black cincher that Bernie's wearing just below that one and it's wonderful. If that pink/black one is anything like it, then I'd say go for it. I would also point out that I didn't go up a size as advised (I'm w-30/h-42) and the 30" fits perfectly.
