Oh my goodness - I was brought up on the Kingston Trio. :D I heard a new version of Long Black Veil the other day...it was a bit goth :(
The song in my head right now that refuses to go away is Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby. :)
That's because brown eyes are THE best! I don't think I've heard...
Move over please, I'd like to join this club.
I actually find myself getting incredibly annoyed by the loud music in shops. But here's the rub; I am very even tempered. I never, ever lose it. I don't rant, I don't shout, I never raise my voice - in fact, I don't even know what I'd...
I had terrible trouble with fountain pens - basically because they were all for right handed people and my teacher insisted that I was just trying to be awkward by writing with my left. Eventually she gave in and got me a left handed one but it didn't really help. I've never had neat writing - I...
Snap! Mine isn't at all vintage! lol
I feel so strongly about not having people buy me gifts - there is nothing that I need but plenty that others in the world do.
Mine are non-existant, Nikki - I can just about see a hint of them on my thumbnails but none anywhere else. Good job I have no desire to give myself a vintage manicure!
Fleur Darling, yours look fab. How did the corset hold up, BTW?
Oh my goodness Bonnie, I'd have just died of embarrassment! You poor thing, my heart goes out to you, it really does.
So did you get your hubby a present?
I use Lush shower gel to wash my stockings! For unmentionables, I handwash using Ecover. I usually do it every other day so it doesn't mount up. I also handwash most of the clothing I make (if it doesn't get dry cleaned) - it would probably be fine in the machine but I have a new one that I am...
Because neither of us need any more 'stuff' and that anything we want, we tend to buy for ourselves during the year, and because we both feel that Christmas should not be about the accumulation of material wealth, my presents to K are toilets and safe water for 50 people in Kenya.
I know, Sweetie - I'm just teasing! You write wonderful posts that are always a pleasure to read. You keep it up! :D
Shellie, I completely agree with what you say about dressing in vintage (real or repro) - very, very feminine indeed. And glammy; let's not forget that!
I'd actually much rather have a black one but this was the only one I could find. I shall be using mine occasionally - it'd feel wrong not to. Mind you, I shall probably dry it with a hairdryer afterward! lol
I was going to suggest the full body pamper route - especially good when you're feeling all dusty etc from moving. I also like to bake cakes and cookies.
That's really pretty LS. Does it come with the tree and pressies? lol
I just got a great 1930s brolly with its original, burgundy corded carrying case. The detailing on it is exquisite. The umbrella has an amber & brass top with a corded carrying handle & has burgundy and amber stripes...
TBH my winter wardrobe is not much different to my summer or spring one! I still wear mainly suits or dresses/skirts with sweaters or cardis. This year I have added trousers though - not because of the weather but because I like the look of them!
