Well done everyone! And Smithy - very dashing!
Here's from a few years ago. This photo was sort of an accident, but it sticks with me. Sorry for the junky quality.
I absolutely agree. Food is the same as wine, and after you've flown wine, it is entirely discombobulated and mere shadow of what it should be. (Fortunately laying it down for a good while will allow it to recombobulate properly.) The same rules apply to food. Not that's it's bad per se, it's...
I second everything that Ben said.
I just moved out of Chicago after 30 years. Where you are moving is *drastically different* than Florida in every way. It will take time to adjust and get the feel. You will have a great adventure.
As far as Vintage goes, Chicago is terribly overpriced...
Besame powder is okay, but I don't love it, especially for the price. (I do however, love their base.) Coty doesn't work for me. It looks alright for about 10 minutes.
I do love Bobbi Brown powder.
Ha ha ha!!!
Lady Day - I was actually annoyed by that very issue *today*. I don't see why it souldn't work, even if you used those tiny little bead-sized fishing weights... hmmm... *trots off to experiment*
Gentleman of style: Lyle Lovett.

I don't care about that.
You can have my girl

Barnes & Noble #2077, Lloyd Center, Portland OR:
They have it in two spots. It's on the "Power Tower" or whatever they call it, and then it's on an end cap as well, facing the windows of the store. It is definitely prominent. It's lovely and a great read.
Cheers!
yes. on his site, joss expounds upon it. the best quote: "I'm as relieved as I am disappointed, and both of those things lead to drink, so that's a plus."
Absolutely. For women, everything seemed to be cut to accentuate/accomodate curves, where as today everything seems to be cut for women with more athletic or boyish figures; narrow hips and smaller breasts. I have a hard time finding anything new which I love the way it looks on me. I've got...
My brother and his lady recently got back from Jordan. His girlfriend did dye her blonde hair brown, and kept her clothing modest.
As far as travel clothes, I keep thinking of Cate Blanchett and Gwyneth Paltrow in 'The Talented Mr. Ripley'... Long, full light weight print skirts, knot-front...
It's easy to say 'Let it go,' but I think you need to decided for yourself if it would make you FEEL BETTER to hold him accountable. "Being the bigger person" etc., isn't always the best route. If you need resolution or a kind of healing, then it is your responsibility to obtain it by whatever...
Hi all,
I looked around the inter-web and found this list of hat superstitions, most of them, as some of you mentioned, no doubt came about to deter bad hat-manners.
* A hat left on a bed is bad luck. You should expect a quarrel in the household before the day is over.
* Leaving a hat...
I love an Eisenberg crystal brooch at or near the waist. I also love a vibrant red (or any jewel-tone) silk sash at the waist (then with said brooch on it).
I wear red or different colored shoes with black, but generally only in the Summer or Fall. In Winter I feel it looks too un-seasonal...
nicoletta, those are great! the first one for running about town and looking amazing while doing it, or for while relaxing with tea in the afternoon. and the second one is very becoming! it suits you! great finds.
I also have this experience. I agree with Tough Cookie's thoughts.
My good, gay, male friends have explained that it's the sense of glamour and the polish which I employ in dress, manner, speech, and carriage. Sure enough, whenever I meet their other female friends, they are all put together...
We do have a hat/coat/umbrella check, yet I still see these gents with their hats on the table and my heart lurches... It just seems obvious that that's bad form!
I haven't yet found a hat that is as flattering as I'd like. I wear glasses most of the time and I feel like a hat (or even jewelry near my face) is just *way too much* going on. Also, I have a gigantic head for a woman, so I've never found a vintage lid that fits me. There will come a day when...
