They use the seeds too?? That explains the sheer wretchedness of it then I think. Probably has a little acetone or something in it then for that extra jolt of "flavor". :eeek:.
"The Restorer's Handbook of Easel Painting",...title says it all. Quite informative.
Also reading "Van Eyck in Detail". Some awesome closeup pics of his work that most of us will never see in person.
I think like others have said here, that television and modern movies have had the effect of homogenizing our speech. The odd inflection I hear in the speech of those generally under the age of 35 or so.
Many say everything, even what should be a definite statement, as if it were a question...
Yeah, I'm so glad the movies did away with most of that rot. The movies are a nice distillation of important events in the story. The dwarvish song in the first part of the story was tolerable though.
Now that I think about it, the color of the logo in the little window may have had some significance. I seem to recall different colors used in their "Imperial" and "Royal Imperial" lines. It was a LONG time ago though. I looked at the current styles on their website, and recognized only one...
Quite true Benny. My old barbers always chopped too much off the front for my liking. So now I simply do it myself. Takes some time as I am careful, but I always get the haircut that I want now. :D
And I tend to cut it just like my dad would have done.
I am strictly a 90s shaver guy. 1990s that is, which is when the Gillette Sensor came out. Prior to 1990, I shaved with many different "safety" razors, invariably cutting myself every single time. :(
The Sensor changed all that, not only for me but for many other men I think. I recall reading an...
The CGI stuff was a bit overdone I must say. But still, I can't say it was a bad adaptation of the story, and it fits in well with the rest of the movies overall I think. I want to see part 2 on the big screen here, just like I watched the LOTR trilogy. The first part of The Hobbit really does...
I quite agree. A very watchable WW2 flick. Just watched Into the White. The story of a British and German aircrew who shoot each other down over Norway and are forced to work together to survive.
Lambaste me then, for mentioning it. :p But, the pic might have been taken with a telephoto lens which flattens perspective and makes objects appear closer together than they actually are in real life. So maybe plausible?,..or impossible,..I dunno. Just speculating.
"A Worldly Art". A very informative book about art and society in the Dutch Republic from 1585 to 1718. Explains many of the visual allegories seen in paintings from the era. Great illustrations too.
Just dug my Florsheim "Metros" out of the closet that I bought in 1987 or 1988 I believe. They have the same little oval window on one side inside, and the same sort of info (size, last #, etc.) on the other side. They are from the "Designer's Collection", so they have a slightly different logo...
