My Fed4 arrived today. It's a wonderful hat, the colour (Moonstone) and felt quality quite exceeded my expectations. Alas, so did the size. I'm an almost dead on 56, a bit on the small side, so I ordered a 56, fearing it would be too small, but just as Woodfluter mentioned in his first post...
In another thread Viper Man recommended this book that I'll read for sure if I can lay my hands on it:

However, JFK was not always hatless. En route to his inauguration he did wear a hat...
It seems that it's not just Akubra's that come from Australia:
As I like opera I subscribe to "Allerta", Opera Australia's newsletter. Not that I foresee an opera trip to Down Under in the near future, as I live across the globe, but there's the internet for you...
Milliner Rick McGill tells...
You didn't try to persuade the driver to stop (at gunpoint if necessary)? Or to jump off? Or to... well, anything to save your Lee?
It must have been hard .
But, on the bright side, some Hungarian guy might now have a really nice hat. Perhaps he'll even show up here!
I must admit that I don't wear a tie most of the time, out of practical reasons, a lame excuse, I know.
But the demise of the tie can be an excellent chance to distinguish oneself. Be different, wear a tie!
Things that used to be commonplace can get you noticed now, like being able to...
I love Akubra's. Wonderful hats with excellent style. They're great value for money. AND since I live in a Euro country, exchange rates are very favourable at the moment. (I'm Dutch, right? We have a reputation to know a good buy when we see one ;) ).
The Campdraft goes on my wishlist.
What...
I applaud it. I have a soft spot for hat wearing women, as my wife can confirm ;)
I suppose I'm not even considering looks first. A hat may be advantageous for those, but it's all about attitude and presence, far more interesting than a pretty shell!
I guess you're talking about mine. I just bought it because I liked its looks, and I'm surely not disappointed, it's a very nice hat. What would your guess be about it's date of birth?

No need for heart attacks I'd say. You can have a lucky strike of course, but in the long run a knowledgeable clientele will pay what your goods are worth, not floating with the tide.
Being bald has advantages
Having very little hair left, I just shave my head, so no problems there.
My main hat excuse is that, without hair, I need protection from the elements :D .
Skippy no. 25
25. Never confuse a Dutch soldier for a French one.
This is easy. Dutch, beret to the right, French, beret to the left.
Furthermore, the Dutch speak Dutch (and usually English, some German, perhaps a bit of French). The French speak French. Unless of course they're Legion...
