What I admire in Art's hats I see posted here, is not only the hat itself, but especially how he makes it complement the wearer.
I'm sure there are more good hatters around, guys that can make a great hat by itself, but this for me is a sign of true genius and great craftsmanship :eusa_clap.
Let's give these kids a break. They probably don't have the slightest idea when to don/doff and you can't blame them; they just don't have an example anymore.
What's good is that they obviously like hats. Let's encourage and educate them in a friendly manner.
Also, the colour range has been extended. I've purchased a light grey "moonstone" Fed4. I think it's a welcome addition, especially when you like the style of the Feds but don't want to look too Indy (not that there's anything wrong with that :) )
If this has already been covered, then please point me in the right direction, but I wondered if a directory of which stripes belong to which regiment/school/club exists?
While searching on the internet some of the best known affiliations can readily be found, but is there a list somewhere?
Each to his own!
I like to use old fasioned soap with a brush. I'm not saying it's better but I just like it. I use a Dutch brand that has it's name stamped into it. Great when you open a new package. And much cheaper then those horrible foams.
But that's just my opinion.
Great stuff! I might even be buying a boater after seeing these pics. I always thought them to be slightly clownesque, but these guys look really stylish.
Are you sure?
These are heirlooms after all. I'd keep them as they are.
Downsizing and wearing them is something else. An heirloom does not have to be a museum piece.
But hey, they are your hats now, and it's just my opinion.
