Mmm, yes, I'm all for beach and leisurewear pyjamas!! I love that picture.
It has just struck me that one reason I'd never like to wear my nightdress in public is that pajamas are supposed to be a treat. To wear my supremely cozy flannels or silk nightgowns around town would be like eating...
My college roommate freshman year would more often than not go to sleep in the sweats or pajamas she'd worn that day, then put on a "clean" (I'd hope) pair in the morning, and repeat the cycle. She was in most other regards a perfectly functioning human being, and didn't seem remotely depressed...
I'm just 19, but if I had a nickel for every person who asked me if I act/am an actress, I'd... be able to afford a new pair of ReMixes. The other assumption tends to be that I'm an art major. I study art history, in fact, but I'm awfully tempted to reply that I am a neuroscience major just to...
Ugh, I discovered how "easy" it was to trim my own bangs when I was 15.... generally with blunt fabric scissors, in our shadowy bathroom. Also in high school, I went back and forth so often between dying my hair black, then growing it out to its natural chestnut, that it was visibly striped. Oh...
Luckily I don't find vintage stoles with faces and feet inherently offputting; the catch is when they're in rather rough shape (moth-eaten, shedding, withered paws, etc.), which will give the finest fur the look of roadkill. It may sound convoluted, as I'm also an animal lover, but my rationale...
Oh, I love "meeting" all your animal friends!! What an adorable bunch. And to all who've lost a pet, my deepest sympathy.
My menagerie is down to 1 dog and 1 horse these days...
Chinook, my li'l strawberry roan Appaloosa:
^ He's looking a little awkward there, but let me assure you...
Of course, being a slob isn't some 21st century affliction. I was reading some original late '20s and '30s Hardy Boys books over the Winter break (oh hush, they're fun lol) and quite universally, dodgy characters are referred to as very sloppy, dirty dressers whereas the nice characters are...
I wish I had my own TV show, just so this could be my theme song.

Oh yes, of course; I should have specified contemporary popular culture, or what was en vogue when I was growing up. Why, with such a rich back catalog of brilliant art and cultural relics from the early 20th century to pore over, I simply haven't the time nor the inclination to keep up with...
Tatum, that's so neat! My neighbors keep bees, and I love eating honey made from the clover my very own neighborhood :).
I'd say collecting old things is a serious hobby for me; I never buy at straightforward retail prices, but snoop around auctions, dumpsters, estate sales, backwoods antique...
Coral vs. White Soles
Hello ladies,
I'm saving up for a pair of Muffy's, and there's something I'm curious about... in terms of eras, when were the white soles popular and when were the coral soles popular? It can be hard to tell in the old black-and-white photos just what colors the soles...
I've picked up all sorts of weird expressions from watching old films. I think I spent more time watching old movies and reading old books than actually talking to people growing up lol, so I'm always accidently saying dorky things like "gee" and "golly" and "on the level". In middle school I...
Nomanolo those are gorgeous! You must look so glamorous when you go out in them!
I definitely have names for my little mink family, lol. They have faces, I can't ignore that! Though I'm not very original... my favorite double-mink stole are just Mr. and Mrs. Mink. They really come in handy...
Since this Fall, I have been wearing dark violets every now and again, when I'm in a silent film star mood! Lena Hoschek's F/W 2012 models wear it very beautifully with '40s styles, too.
Aww, isn't it a little unfair to pass such harsh judgement on strangers when we have an entire thread devoted to the silly assumptions others make about us? I personally subscribe to a rather archaic dress code, and don't go outside in my nightie, but you never know what others' circumstances...
I recently acquired this splendid little Argus C3. Such a simple, sturdy thing and it takes remarkably crisp pictures!
The only issue is that the viewfinder and rangefinder windows are quite small and dusty, but I hope a little cleaning will take care of that.
