Thanks. With that brim you can open a petting zoo in more than one county ;)

Nice Bond. I always wonder what the common definition of a stingy brim is. For me anything over 2" pis borderline normal brimmed - but then I'm in the UK

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

On the subject of increasing summer hat stock, I've got five mystery straws on their way from ebay. NOS and a bit musty smelling apparantly, and a mix of 7 1/2 and 7 3/8 - hopefully at least a couple will fit - I tend towards a generous 60 or small 61. There looks to be at least a couple of...

    Western, anyone?

Watch out for low branches ;) That's a very striking find. Not something I'd wear on this side of the pond, but beautiful nonetheless.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

Justin's advice is excellent. From a UK perspective just a few points: On ebay.co.uk bowlers are common place although whatever search term you use will pull up a lot of modern bowlers, frequently listed as 'vintage style' that you'll have to wade through. Most of these are very cheap and...

Miamibruno - I'm no expert, but my guess is the stiffener has faded over time. Nice hat either ways.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Thanks for the comments on the Breton cap. HatsRme & Javier - nice to see the photos of your fathers. My father will reluctantly wear a cotton sun hat if my mother nags him, and a wool beanie for beach fishing in the middle of winter, but isn't a hat man at all. My wife's father wore a beret or...

HatsRMe - I like that stingy. I know they don't get as much love as wider brimmed hats, and maybe being English I'm used to narrower brims, but I think they can make a nice change. They definitely deserve a place in a hat collection.
