Thanks for reading it guys!
Good suggestion Doc. I actually read about Capra's difficulty with the ending in Stanwyck's biography but will definitely pick up Capra's autobiography. I've heard from quite a few people that it's a good read.
Dagwood,
The copies that have gone out thus far are Special Editions for the initial subscribers. It's not technically the "first issue". The first issue is supposed to go out next month, at which time it should be in the bookstores and on stands. From what ICONS has told me, the first issue...
I'll admit, I went in expecting very little. I knew that Michael Bay was involved, and seeing as how he is the remake king - and I have a personal dislike for him based on his remaking compulsion - I didn't expect to like it. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was an entertaining film...
Belgians harvest relics of WWI battles
YPRES, Belgium (AP) - The summer plowing season in Flanders Fields is a good time for Ivan Sinnaeve.
Known as "Shrapnel Charlie," he keeps alive memories of one of history's bloodiest battles by melting down the First World War shells harvested by...
I completely agree. I hate when people have children and give their pets away. It's not the pet's fault. They get emotionally attached to people just as people get attached to them. So when someone gives a pet away, they're really hurting the animal emotionally. The animal doesn't understand...
As I said, I just about DVR'ed the whole tribute. I started off last night watching The Two Mrs. Carrolls. Now, I love Bogart, he's probably my favorite actor. Stanwyck? I'm crazy about the gal. So, with these 2 combined, I knew it was going to be a good time!
NOTE: Please do not divulge the...

Thanks for this. I've always been captivated by Earhart's disappearance. I saw a really good documentary YEARS ago, and I do believe the Tighar people were involved in making it. I think it was called The Search for Amelia Earhart, or something similar.
I tend to lean towards the noirs that take place in the city and involve the usual shady characters. I've yet to see "The Lady from Shanghai", simply because I have such a hard time envisioning the setting as "noir". I could be wrong and will still give it a shot. I also seem to like the B-noirs...
Fletch,
If you do decide to start a petition, I'd be more than happy to sign it. I hate to hear things like this. Destroy history and build something forgettable? Yeah, makes perfect sense :rage:
I'm not entirely sure where this town is located but the photos are great!

That's true. In addition to her independence being an on-screen/off-screen thing, she also handled her business that way. She wasn't signed to any one studio exclusively, which allowed her to accept scripts/pitches from every major company. Since today's actors/actresses enjoy the same freedom...
I think it's because she's gone under-appreciated, IMO. Kate and Bette have a sort of iconic status, but Stanwyck doesn't for whatever reason. I personally think she should be as revered. I'm DVR'ing pretty much the whole TCM tribute! :)
