    Summer hat suggestions?

Reviving an old thread! Hi ladies! I have a question for you about summer hats that I couldn't find elsewhere - I am very curious to know what vintage hats you wear in the summer. I have some lovely ones that are made out of heavier material like velour, and I am wondering if these would...

    Show Us Your Purchases!

Yeah I did notice that - incredible! And appliances like that are soooo expensive to buy. It's too bad, I can see why it wouldn't sell though, because I've watched enough of those "selling houses" programs to know that the neutral houses sell best because then people design them their way...

    The ones that got away

Yep, these are individuals that definitely have money to burn. I know I've said this before on here, but I feel like its becoming an epidemic. I swear a few years back dresses like these would have gone for $150, maybe $200 max...but now dresses are between $400-600???? I don't know, I think...

The Cleaning Clothes (vintage or other) Thread

Gracie: hahaha it's true and I cannot believe I am saying this on the internet...but I have tried panty liners as well and they don't give great protection...I guess because they are designed for "light flow" days....hahahaha omg I am ridiculous :p Kitty: pins are a great idea! That...

The Cleaning Clothes (vintage or other) Thread

Yeah because the disposibles are always very thin and I find a out-sweat them....ew...:D Oh...and to add...in a pinch, I have actually used maxi pads....LOL don't judge me, they actually work! Well, I mean the good name-brand ones that have a better adhesive...I stuck them in there and no one...

    Hats - where to begin?

That is true - which is why I try to remember to buy some very simple vintage dresses as well, in solid colours because then my "gotta have 'em" hats match perfectly! Patterns helped me greatly as well. And I love when you're watching an old movie and are like, "Oh THAT'S how the hat is...

    Sewing Lessons & FAQ

Attention sewing experts!! Need your help! Hi ladies, Was hoping one of you very talented seamstresses could assist me. My great aunt gave me a 1930's dress that I adore and unfortunately it is a little too snug to pull over. Once it got on, it was fine in the bust, but good lordy was it...

Just gotta rant...vintage sellers who drive me nuts!

This actually just happened to me. I bought an item recently and KNEW it would not cost as much to ship as the seller insisted it would. Turns out, I was right...she charged me triple the amount actually, and never refunded me the difference, nor did it say in her policies that she charges for...

Just gotta rant...vintage sellers who drive me nuts!

I totally agree! It is so hard not to walk up to the counter and ask them if they're kidding...lol I find this happens mostly in brick and mortar stores versus online, where the prices are usually higher to begin with.

How to wear a 'Pert' hat

You can also try attaching some elastic to the hat - some of my tilt hats come with it already but I know they often break over the years, so some don't. I think some of the ladies on here have tried this....

Just gotta rant...vintage sellers who drive me nuts!

Hi ladies, You all make very interesting points. For me, I think my original post might have been misinterpreted. I am not against sellers buying items to sell...lol that would be kind of ridiculous, right??? I totally get that is the point of being a seller...in anything really except...

The Cleaning Clothes (vintage or other) Thread

I tried both the washable ones and the disposable, and I have to say that the disposables didn't work all that well for me - they were so thin that on a hot day I just sweat right through them! The ones that are thicker have always worked best for me.
