I actually just purchased a few of her patterns - she has some really nice
30's sweater dress/coat and hat sets. I would say that I would review this pattern once it is completed for you girls, but I am a beginner at knitting, so I don't think anyone wants to wait for the next 5 years or so...
I totally agree- I find that super frustrating as well- I don't get why they wouldn't just make them slightly longer- isn't that better for business anyway, because you can always shorten it if you dont like the length. I have passed up so many dresses with mod cloth because of it :-(
Can you help me date this hat?
Hi ladies!
I bought this hat in a vintage shop today - I just loved it because it has a very 30's feel to it, when you wear it tilted to the side. It came with a feather in the ribbon, but it came loose, I will have to reattach but I included a pic of that too...
Those pictures are just incredible! Wow Johanna I cannot believe how much you look like her, that is amazing!!!!! Actually it is funny Ohairas mentioned the swimsuit... I saw a while back that a seller on etsy had made one! You definitely have to get it!
I just love Barbie...my fav are the...
Awww thank you! The coolest part about the costume was that I actually got the Jem earrings...you know the ones that flashed when she turned into Jem? This woman on ebay makes them...we were in the club and everyone was laughing because they were like, "At least we won't lose Mary, we can see...
hahahaha Lizzie the only time I laugh outloud is when I read your posts... lol That gives me quite the imagery...you holed up in a corner, clutching a tube of lipstick....hahahaha!
Thanks ZombieGirl! My favourite was She-Ra...except that it was sort of a pain wearing that head piece all night...I kept smacking my head getting out of the car...LOL
OMG am loving this thread! Inky, your photos are amazing!!
I absolutely adore Halloween and really get into it - lately I have been on an 80's cartoon kick, so last year I dressed up as Jem from Jem and Holograms:
And the year before, it was She-Ra princess of power!!
Of course...
I think it was that I found the plot to be very lackluster, and none of the songs were very memorable or engaging to me. I liked the number with Lena Horne though.
I am also not a fan of the "specialty" acts, like the potato salad, etc etc. It seems less of a musical and more of a Lawrence...
Interesting article! I don't know, I am not really surprised that not wearing vintage from head to toe would be the recommendation of "fashion experts." I actually read that a lot.
It doesn't really bother me personally, I find this is just typical of fashion and the opinions of stylists...
That is so true. It's all about positive energy...I wish I could take my own advice. I am staring at my shoes right now thinking, "This colour really didn't go with this dress....blech!"
Funny though, to know others think the same thing!
Oh lordy! I actually saw the film that this clip came from on TCM...I cannot believe I actually sat through it up until that part....worst classic movie ever!!! I remember trying to suffer through it, and then that scene came on, and my b/f walked in the room and was like, "What in the world are...
Just wondering what you ladies think about the 30-50's sweater dresses/skirts. I absolutely love them, and I own one from the 50's which is a sweater with a matching sweater skirt. Too cute. Only trouble is I usually only wear the sweater and not the skirt because I have about 40 inch hips and I...
Do any of you ladies encounter other women in full vintage a lot? I have never actually seen anyone else dress in head to toe vintage like I've been known to...usually in Toronto people tend to more "mix and match" wearing a vintage dress with modern accessories or vintage bag and shoes.
For...
I think this is what you're thinking of? This is a hat I bought from Fabgabs a while back....I love it!
Oh, and by the way - good call on the non-velour. I had an outdoor event to go to and chose this woven hat instead and am sooooo grateful I did...it was a scorcher out there!
