I finished Tess last night (after having set it aside during the holidays) and it was everything I'd hoped for. A gorgeous book. Oh, that ending...:(

The forecasters keep saying "Coldest winter in 30 years!" which makes me want to poke them in the eye. Or perhaps hit them with my snow shovel. :eusa_doh: I don't usually mind the winter but this year it's just too much. shakeshead
WHOA. That's beautiful! :eusa_clap
I have a beautiful repro record player - one of those 4-in-1 music systems - but sadly no vinyl to play on it. Not yet. :D

I'm not a couch potato by any means, but there are certain shows I like to watch, and since I don't have high-speed internet yet I do still watch them on TV. Aside from TCM, I'm a fan of House, glee, LOST, and Family Guy. Oh, and the occasional Golden Girls marathon. lol
• a tiny Swiss Army knife
• a vintage St Christopher medal from my grandmother
• a couple of discount card keytags
• a memory stick (all my silent film photos are on there!)
• a little flashlight (company swag from a while ago)
and a piece of red yarn from when I was matching a bedspread...
I like "shabby chic" when it's done with bits and scraps of modern things, not priceless treasures. The idea of turning a beautiful piece of vintage furniture (or anything for that matter) into a crackly chintzy mess just hurts. :eusa_doh:
