Thats a lovely compact, it does look like something from WWII, so maybe there was still an army camp of some sort there then, as well. You do find a few sovenirs from various army camps, like pillow case covers and compacts, so i bet you will find something even better when you're not even...

Got this today, it has got all the US bases on the Island of Oahu, including Pearl Harbour, it is in gorgeous condtion and even comes with the box and the cover, they sure knew how to look after things back then:D . It is a lot bigger than i though it was going to be too, actually measuring 4"...
I feel the only way you can get a bargin now is if its buy it now, has bad pictures or has been listen wrong, you can forget getting a nice dress if it isn't in the above catigories!
You could re-thread it with tighter elastic, this will help it stay on better.

The 40's! Mainly the WWII period, love the utility/ tailored look as well as how classy the styles were! I keep going into the 30's and 50's slightly with a few pieces i get, but then i always go back to the 40's gotta love the shoulder pads (not the 80's ones:eek: ) and the nipped-in waists!
