How to tell the difference between Repro and Real Vintage
I wouldn't suggest you buy off ebay unless your totally sure its vintage, it cheap or you just love it! I would recommend going to vintage fairs (not really the cheapest place to buy, espcially down here in London!) but the are great to look around and it will give you a good idea of fabric...- maisie

Amami wave set?
I saw that article too, and I'm so annoyed its being discontinued :(! I have used it for ages, and now weirdly like the smell of it too haha! I have thick hair and find this is the only stuff that will keep my hair curly for a day or too! So I'm stock buying now lol! But what I didn't relise... -
Another question about hair--taming the mane.
Regarding the boar bristle brushes, I have had a look around, and there seems to be two types hard or soft bristles, which one would be the best? There're also ones with handles and ones without but I suppose that would be up to personal preference :). -

I think the dress would be find to handwash. The lining will probably crinkle up but should be fine once you iron it out. I definitely wouldn't put it in the washing machine though, even on a gentle wash and its more than likely that with that old lace you will get one if not a few holes forming.- maisie

Wow! I had a suit a while back that was exactly the same as the red polka dot picture, the same red and white fabric and white cotton trim and everything! The only thing different was it had half circle patch pockets on the bust, but again with the same trim! It was a really cute suit, however...- maisie

Getting the zipper all the way up
I have seen a device from the 40's (in its packaging or else I wouldn't have a clue what it was!) that is similiar to the ribbon idea... it just would of been more expensive! I believe you clipped it to the zipper then zipped up with ease due to the extra length of the 'tool'! Whether you left...- maisie
