If i go out to a show or dance i definatly prefer to wear dresses, but i have to say i love those glitzy evining suits with all the beading a deatils! I also prefere 'summer suits' as i call them, they are less 'dressy' than normall suits and don't have to be worn withblouses most of the time!:D...
I love all those shoes, especially the bottom left navy and red ones, they even have a matching handbag! And the one's above those, i have in black they are SO comfy!
I live in Biggin Hill, and i think that those planes were flying out of the airport here. I think it was the memorial flight, as they flew in and out quite alot over the past weekend. The spitfire was even practicing tricks on the saturday afternoon/eveningnot far from my house!:D
Oh, i have some lovely dresses with the coolest prints on them! I have one with flowers ( in the prettiest colours and designs!) horses and deco designs. Then i have a blouse that has got landmarks on it including the Statue of Liberty! i will try and post some pictures as soon as possible.:D
I've also got a pair of slingbacks and these seem narrower than there other 2 pair i have recently got which are a lot wider. I also find the remix shoes very comfotable, as there is a little bit of padding, but i suppose it depends on the style you go for. I wore mine all weekend (well nearly...
I love all of those boots, especially the white and black ones, see back then they could even make boots look glamorous! And i love the fur trimed 'proper' snow boots lol!
I love that pattern!:D I have a NOS dress that came with the tags still attached that is very, very similar to the pattern and looks so much like a sporty dress and is in a really colourful cotton print fabric!
Ohh my re-mix shoes came in the mail yesterday and i am so please with them!! In the end i got the white pleated toe ones and the green, lime and white ones both which were in the sale!!:D I love the green and white ones they are so cool! I just can't wait to wear the and as for the white one...
I wouldn't recommend wearing shoes that are too small/narrow as i have seen too many pairs of gorgeous shoes ruined that way:( . There was a pair of lovely red 40s leather shoes on ebay, they were a size 7.5 but the person who wore them was an 8 and they had split both shoes on both sides then...
Here is just a few bits that i have, i love the shell set cause it looks so hawaiian. I have quite a few different types of sweetheart pins, and other patriotic pins that go lovely with suit and dresses!
I think the finishing touches MAKE an outfit! I mean anyone can throw on a 40s dress or suit, but it it takes time to acessories! lol! Like the hair, make up, jewellery. Then you gotta have the stockings then a hat/flower then the shoes have gotta be just right! :D Then there is blouses to go...
Earrings!
I have a box just full of period earrings, that i have got from charity shops, vintage shows and just collected. I also bought a big lot of about 24 earring a couple of years ago of 40s earring for about $10, and in it were earrings to go with every outfit:D , i also got off the same...
Or we could just use charcoal for eyeliner, ash for mascara and beetroot for lipstick! lol Oh, and don't forget pinching the cheeks for the effect of rouge!lol
I only sleep in rollers when i'm going to an event, and normally wear them during the day when i'm going to a dance ;) , but i use the soft plastic ones, which are very uncomftable to wear in the beginning but you get used to them/they soften up! lol! I also use setting lotion so the curl lasts...
I use Mary Kay's Paprika lipstick, i love the colour as it isn't too red and the smell isn't bad either (that may sound weird but you know the type of lipsticks that small like wax! eww!!), but unfortunatly they don't stock that colour anymore!!:( So i have been on the lookout for a similar...
