You could just call it "perfect", I'm sure many guys will agree. ;)
You can put your measurements in myshape.com and they give you a letter for your shape. They have M, Y, S, H, A, P, E. Their M and A are "pear" but both have a defined waist. They put me as an S, which is supposedly...
According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_body_shape
If you almost have an hourglass, but are a bit off (i.e. bigger hips) you might be a "spoon" shape, but if you are only 1" off of a hourglass shape I would probably count that as hourglass anyway. The straight shape is...
I've seen different definitions but it seems to me that the most common definition of an hourglass figure is that it has equal bust and hip measurements and a waist that is at least 10" smaller than that.
It is supposedly a rare body type.
I've made cold cream a few times. My first batch started to go rancid after about 3 months at room temperature. You could probably make it last longer by substituting oils that have a longer shelf life. I found a list that says that jojoba oil, fractionated coconut oil and meadowfoam oil have...
I made a new site for Southern California in Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Southern-California-Vintage-Scene/118527354863641?ref=ts
Feel free to join up if you are interested. Also, I don't have a logo or any good photos so I am open to suggestions.
I did a quick survey of Facebook to try to judge numbers in different cities.

There used to be more troupes around LA, but most of them are now disbanded.
In Los Angeles/Orange County there are at least two groups. There is the Satin Dollz and the Atomic Cherry Bombs. They are two very different groups. I've seen both. You didn't mention why you wanted to know, are...
Dita had dinner at Maxwell DeMille's Cicada Club last night. One lounger got a photo with her, here it is:
p.s. Christi I can judge her if I want to, she went out with one of my friends before she married Marilyn Manson, she is part of the vintage social circle here in Los Angeles. ;)
You can use the mineral oil and petrochemical free recipe that I posted on page 1 of this thread. If you can follow a recipe you can make this easily. You will need to make a few substitutions since this is a vintage recipe that calls for whale products which are now banned everywhere...
I've used fusibles on silk. I keep the iron at the lowest steam setting. The trick is to not leave it too long, but long enough to melt the fusible. I don't know how well it would work for the dress though. What are you planning to use? I would think that most fusibles would be too stiff for...
I did 30's hair tonight for the opening of the Petersen Auto Museum's exhibit Automotivated: Streamline Fashion and Automobiles. It was fabulous by the way.
I should have done the photos before, but here is what was left of my hair and makeup when I got home:

I don't like Old Spice all that much. I don't like a lot of men's colognes, but the ones I do like, I"ll even wear myself. I do love English Leather however. More men should smell like that.
You could maybe check out a Bay Rum scent or a Fern (English Fern/Penhalions, Wild Fern/Trumper) too.
Illamasque is pale, but maybe you are looking for a less expensive option? I am pretty pale myself.
I looked at some of Maybelline's international sites, their color offerings vary a lot by county. Just be glad that you don't live in Sweden or the Netherlands, all of the Maybelline...
I have a vintage step in pattern, there are hooks on the side only. It isn't the most convenient undergarment ever, but it is possible to use the necessary in it.
You could use the teddy pattern that you have. If you make the legs longer it might be difficult to snap though. You could...
I tried Jicky at Nordstrom's a while back. If it wasn't expensive I would buy and wear it a lot. It is a strange scent, a fougere or fern scent, but the dry-down is amber and really nice.
I don't know if everyone would like it, but I do. Of course the only feminine scent I have ever tried...
sugarkitten:
Loops on the bottom are usually a result of lack of thread tension (possibly because it is threaded incorrectly). You should make sure there isn't any thread or lint stuck anywhere in your machine too.
If you did everything that crwitt said (good advice btw) and it still...
Trish,
Since you don't like leather, tobacco and lily of the valley, and already ruled out Shalimar, Arpege and Mitsouko, you have eliminated many of the 20's vamp scents already.
Avoid Tabac Blond, Habanita, En Avion and Chanel's Cuir de Russie, as they have the offending leather or...
Mitsouko sometimes smells great on me, and at other times really smells "off". Some other perfumes do this on me, they "change" from wearing to wearing, I also get sick of some after a while.
The worst offender for me, Guerlain's Djedi smells like my spit. It is the only perfume I ever got...
My mom's pearls are "Jackie O" pearls like these:
They have a little rhinestone clasp with an "Emerald". Although single strand pearls are nice, and I would really like some for myself, the double strand is classy and worth considering too.
