I believe the fur-felt cones come from Southern Europe (I think the last fur-felt bodies made in the UK finished production in the 80's). I believe the hats are otherwise made in the UK. Sorry I'm with Frank - my experience with modern Christy's is (apart from the bowlers) they don't take moisture very well. Once they've shrunk once they won't shrink again, but yes steam or rain shrinks them. I'd be tempted to steam it even more then re-shape into a diamond crease which will... -

Harv and Sam - nice pics. Charlie - Nikon D700 with an old 28-105 zoom. It's a tolerably good zoom, with a macro setting, that I use as a walkabout lens. If I'm doing more serious stuff I'll use an AI'd manual focus 1970's micro-nikkor, but that's for when I'm not out for a walk with my wife... -
