It stopped me buying any more of the modern ones. 70's and earlier were fine - don't let the current imported felts put you off buying the older ones where they produced their own felt.

I'm finally getting round to my Stagecoach conversion. No brim cutter, so I used a flange to chalk a cut line, then shears - thankfully it worked well and after a little pouncing is perfectly oval to the eye at least. Now to pounce the body - that's going to take some time with the felt thickness!

Mike deserves the credit for the ribbon colour. I asked for something without too bold a contrast in the 'peanut butter range' with an olive insert, and he came up with the Kangaroo - slightly darker than I had envisaged but when he sent a photo I couldn't not go for it -...
It could have been made by Christys for a Welsh shop (Aberystwyth doesn't have any hat shops these days (I used to live there)). It could have been made by Christys for any store in the UK though.
