Actually, the UK is a net exporter of cars and engines. As well as car assembly by Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, Vauxhall, Aston Martin, McLaren and smaller specialists there is large scale export of engines. Ford at Dagenham and Bridgend export 1.6...
Mr Crockett may be right. The photos aren't the best but both jackets seem to have the same type of internal pocket. The leather on both jackets looks a bit second rate too. Never trust greedbay !
Other jacket makers in the UK seem to have the tension of the stitching different. Aero stuff often, but not always, has little tears around the stitch holes.
The other little give-away is most cheap jackets made in the UK are not made by British workers so use different methods of tailoring...
Keyword spamming is not allowed in ebay titles but I think it's been done with moderation. I often put "A-2" in a jacket listing. Pulls in 3 times as many views.
I prefer his other listings...
I remember visiting the Walker shop in Covent Garden. The jackets were definitely made of Horween Chromexcel leather. A much later visit and the jackets had morphed into the sort of jackets being made by London's east end south Asian community. Same Aero designs but standard cowhide leathers and...
Good post.
Whilst it's true that internet forums can facilitate and affirm irrational behaviour in past times magazine subscriptions could do likewise. You only have to look at Victorian era publications to see the vast network of clubs and societies catering for all interests ...
I don't understand why you base inflation on the price of gold. Gold has it's industrial and commercial uses but it's also a highly speculated commodity. We live in a World of fractional reserve banking where the money supply is not connected to gold reserves.
The retail price index or consumer...
As I said, cheap products for human consumption can contain unlabelled horse...

It may be easier to ask Aero to make the same jacket in horsehide at a cost price $800.
Curious the amounts being talked about are in $. The buyer uses euros and the original vendor £ !
I wouldn't be surprised if mechanically separated meat slurry from eastern Europe and South America contains horse. This finds it's way into cheap pasties etc. here.
I seem to remember my parents paying the knackers man for removal for my old childhood pony
The strongest leather per ounce is Kangaroo followed by goat. Goat is certainly used in racing suits.
The most important element of water proofing is the top finish. This can be a totally waterproof pvc paint right through to a non-water proof aniline coating.
Horween's chromexcel is stuffed...
The mystique element seems to originate from marketing. I remember HPA (the US Eastman distributor) using the term 'mustang'. An attempt to conjure up images of wild horses roaming freely. The reality is more mundane. There are thousands of horses breed for meat and thousands in the UK going to...
The ELC B-3 and B-6 have never used RiRi zips.
BTW. the expensive nickel plated Swiss made RiRi zips used on the ELC Luftwaffe are the best zips in the world. Each tooth machined to perfection, both smooth and strong.
Complete steer and horse hides are a different size and shape.

Easy to tell apart, the horse has a mane down the front centre. On the other hand, a calf off-cut and an incomplete light weight horse...
I'm VAT registered in the UK. The same rules apply throughout the EU.
Aero do not collect VAT on non-EU exports. None is due to the tax man. They keep the money for themselves. IE. it is their choice to "destroy" themselves, as you put it, with prices 20% higher than they need be !
A small...
That's not true. Only the end user pays. Companies reclaim the VAT on inputs. Your also wrong on second hand goods. The margin scheme means VAT is due on the difference between the buying in and selling price.
